I have always wanted a pair of Frye boots just out of curiosity. I was pleasantly surprised to catch these on sale. They are amazing. Smell soooo good like leather should. They are heavy duty made and they fit perfectly. I can wear them all day and I am picky about comfortable shoes. The black lace-up has a dominatrix - sexy - GI Jane vibe to it which I am liking! I've always loved military style, riding boots. And have owned many a vinyl "fake leather" pair, but they always fall apart within a year or so. Having used real leather for years in cosplay, I knew I wanted a pair of real leather boots. Something to last me the rest of my life, with care. I also knew I wanted something timeless looking, without all the straps and extra stuff you can find on boots today. Finding these felt like a dream. The leather is gorgeous and smells amazing. Fit is a bit tight around the ankle, but it helps to re-lace. Plus, it will loosen as the boot is worn and fits me better and better. Going to order some of the waterproofing balm soon. First off: I consistently wear a size 6 (Euro 36) in most quality brands. I had to size up to 7 in these—yet they are barely longer than my 6’s in other brands and the arch hits in the same spot as a 6. Pros: the leather is sturdy and breaks in well. I’ve found the boots comfortable with thinner wool socks and skinny jeans in temps from 30-65°. If you prefer less cushion in your shoes, these are ideal with good balance. Cons: the zipper pulls are shoddy. One broke within a month of purchase, which is pretty pathetic for nearly $400 boots. And sending them in for repair at the onset of winter is a pain. Read more
Fits true to size. I wear a 6.5 but a lot of times I have to size up to a 7 because they’re to narrow on my foot. I ordered 6.5 and these are perfect even with a semi thick sock. I have small calves and was hoping with the zipper and laces I’d get a good fit, I was not disappointed. These are beautiful and exactly what I wanted! Read more
I love these boots! I ordered them in a half size larger than I usually wear and they are perfect. They require no breaking in. They are very comfortable and I can wear them with leggings, or go riding in them. I have ordered plenty of boots that I had to return because they did not fit properly. But these are perfect! Very well made, very stylish, very comfortable — IF you size up. I own four other pairs of Frye boots in a 7 and I debated between 7.5 and 8, but ultimately decided I didn’t *need* to wear thick socks with these so I went with the 7.5 pair I exchanged the 7’s for. I wanted to purchase my Frye boots for some time and I’m glad I did. I decided to take them to Europe with me which was the right decision. Being new, they were not comfortable. It took some time to break in, but finally it happened. It didn’t happen in Holland! It didn’t happen in Amsterdam! It definitely didn’t happen in Germany, but it did happen in Prague, my happy place! Hopefully it will be your happy place as well. I collect Frye boots and by far, my tall combat boots are the most stylish of them all. I wear a size nine and they are true to size, just don’t wear super thick socks. Read more
