I love this brand. The app is easy to work and it hasn’t let me down. Have had no issues with connection and it works great! I have two, one for my horses water and one for my chicken water so it doesn’t freeze. At first I didn’t understand the scheduling but then figured out you have to give it the action of turning on at a certain time and turning off at a certain time! Bought this (like most others) to control outdoor holiday lights. I bought the fist one last year before the holiday season and when I needed a second one this year I bought another of this same model. It works well and costs under $20, which is pretty much what I was looking for. I can't speak for the Alexa integration but the Google integration works well. Connecting it to Google was simple and I have never had any issues forcing me to reconnect or anything like that... even after letting it around in the garage on a shelf for 8 or 9 months. Plugged it back in and it worked right away. I don't have much detailed thoughts on the app itself since I only use it for initial setup and to program a timer. If I want to turn them on/off outside of my scheduled timer program, I use Google for that. Initial setup in the app was easy enough and programming a timer was straightforward. Although I will say that it would be good if you could combine multiple units onto a single schedule. Right now if you have two unit (like I do) that you want running on the same schedule (like I do), you need to manually program the same times for both. A little bit of a hassle but it's something you do one time and then forget about it. So if it takes an extra minute or so to setup it's not really a big deal. The only negative thing I have to say about the unit is that the little rubber/plastic outlet cover is pretty flimsy. It broke off after one season. Since there's just one outlet though, I can't imagine why anyone would even need the cover... you either have something plugged into it or you bring it inside. There's no reason to leave it outside (cover or no) if you're not using it. Read more

I've been using Geeni products for a while now, plugs, switches and been very happy with them all. This outdoor smartplug is great! Same footprint as standard outdoor plugs but seamlessly part of the Geeni control system. Easy to set up and with the app I have it programmed to turn on and off as I please. A good outdoor connector needs to always maintain the internet connection and remember the configuration when the power goes out, and this is not the case with this product, you have to continually reset it to find the internet signal and when the power goes out, you have to press the switch again to turn it on and try to connect to the internet, in the end you have to manually click the switch to turn it on, which is silly, because the idea was to avoid having to click a switch. Conclusion: Don't waste your money on this product and instead buy a better one or install a manual switch. Read more

I have other Geeni smart plugs and all have worked out well. I was specifically looking for one that could be used outdoors and came across this. It’s perfect. The instructions (though we didn’t need them), were straightforward. It connected to our WiFi easily. Love that I can control 2 different plugs individually through the app. Excellent value.
