Could never get to work with Google voice commands. I have synced my Geeni account with Google Home multiple times and followed all the proper steps and they will not work with voice commands as they are advertised to do. I have the similar Merkury brand smart plugs that work with the Geeni app and they work great but these Geeni branded plugs do not work like they should. Read more
I am always looking for good smart plugs to add to my smart home. I recently got the two-pack from Geeni, and I am very happy with them so far. The setup was incredibly easy. The instruction manual provides a QR code that sends you to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to download their free app. Once downloaded and opened, you must create an account. After the account is created, plug the smart plug into an outlet. Once it was plugged in, I clicked the “+” symbol to add a new device on the app and held the power button on the smart plug for three or so seconds for it to turn on and enter pairing mode. Once it was in pairing mode, it popped up on my phone to pair. When you tap the plug icon to pair on the phone, the first thing it does is pop up the Wi-Fi that your phone is currently connected to and asks for the Wi-Fi password. My phone connects to a 5 GHz Wi-Fi frequency, and this connection failed. I had to switch my phone to the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi frequency, and then it paired perfectly. Once paired, you can control the plug with your phone. There's a large power button that you can use to turn it on and off on the screen. You can also create schedules and timers all through the app. You can connect it to Amazon Alexa or Google Home so that you can use your voice to control it. Connecting it to my Alexa was extremely easy. I navigated to the place in the app for Third -Party Control, which is the three dots on the top right when the plug is selected, and tapped Alexa. It automatically downloaded the add-on for the Alexa app, and it was ready to use in seconds. For $20, which is the price at the time of writing this review, I think this is a great value. At $10 per plug, you can turn almost any electronic device into a smart device. The plug is small enough that it does not get in the way of the second outlet. I personally used mine under a table of my photo studio light so that way I can use my voice to turn it on anytime I am about to take pictures. Highly recommended. Read more

These Geeni Mini smart plugs (2-pack) are a fantastic low-cost option for adding smart control to your home, especially if you're in the Alexa ecosystem like me (they're also compatible with Google Home, though I haven't tested that). Setup was quick and painless: they paired seamlessly with the Alexa app and my Echo devices right out of the box—no hub required, just a stable 2.4GHz WiFi connection. Voice control works perfectly ("Alexa, turn on the lamp"), and the Geeni app gives reliable remote access from anywhere—scheduling, timers, and energy monitoring all function smoothly without any glitches. I've been using them daily for lights in my office, and they've performed flawlessly—no dropouts, delays, or connectivity issues. The compact mini design doesn't block the second outlet on a duplex receptacle, which is a big plus. At this price, they're the best value 2-pack I found after shopping around—solid build, UL certified for safety, and they just work. Order with confidence if you're looking for affordable, no-fuss smart plugs! Read more
I've been looking into getting a new smart plug for my house, and I used to have an older model of the geeni plugs, so I decided to take the plunge and grab these. I'm quite happy I did these things work great. Setup was a breeze they're basically just plug-and-play (I did have to reset one of them, but once I did it connected almost immediately). I currently have them connected to space heaters at my place so I can turn them on and off whenever I want, wherever I want. They've worked perfectly for that. I will say when my Alexa picked it up I about had a heart attack I was NOT expecting it to sync up automatically then loudly tell me about it (had my volume maxed out. Whoops). But yeah it connected to my Alexa with zero input from me, and the voice controls have worked flawlessly. Overall these are great smart plugs for any home setup Read more
I grabbed these to replace some other Alexa-only plugs I have hoping they were Smartlife compatible. Quite a lot of things are, and I was happy to see these are too. They feel solid and well built, both the socket and the plug are a good fit, and clear instructions are included. Once I got them set up, everything has worked great. You do not need to install their app if you don't want - you can just use the Smartlife app you already have and just add a new device. However minus a star because setup actually was pretty problematic. When they are first plugged in, they're not on, so there's no indicator light. So I pressed the power button, held it down, held it more down, tried different outlets, everything. Tried both of them, same thing. I honestly thought they were broken. But I kept trying and eventually one connected. What I ultimately had to do was press the on button relatively hard. This was strange because the power button has a good feel and a distinct 'click' when you press it, but it wasn't actually turning it on. And since the indicator light never blinks at all when you first plug it in, you don't know whether anything is happening. Once I pressed hard enough, power and pairing mode worked as described in the manual. So some initial hiccups, but they work well once you get them set up. Actually they're pretty quick too. Wifi plugs often have a noticeable delay when you control them from the app. These turn on and off right away. Read more
