The Glacier Fresh water filter was a perfect fit in my GE side-by-side refrigerator. It took less than 30 seconds to remove the old filter and install the new. The glacier fresh replacement filter contains a chip that conveys the "filter life remaining" status to the refrigerator - the chip was automatically recognized by and worked perfectly in my refrigerator. The water quality from the filter is very good. The Glacier Fresh filter is about 2/3 the cost of the GE OEM replacement so although still fairly expensive is a fair deal. I will purchase again. A direct replacement for the XWFE (I love that model name) that actually FLOWS WATER!! The first time!! And does it for the six months that it’s supposed to!! For less money!! What’s not to love?
