I have tried a number of blenders through the years and this has surprisingly been my favorite. It is far quieter than the last beast I had and does a great job blending ice, frozen fruit, and raw fruits and veggies, and it does the job without having to shake down ingredients. It's very easy to remove the blade and clean. One caveat - I wish I could figure out how to remove the black base piece as a few chia seeds have worked their way between the base and the glass jar, and I'm not sure how to get them out! This is hands down the best blender I've ever purchased and had. It makes the best smoothies/milkshakes etc. right in the convenience of my home. No more traveling to get a smoothie and pay the high prices. On top of it, it makes a better smoothie than any one I've bought. If you love smoothies, I would highly recommend getting one of these.
