So I decided to hop on the red light bandwagon and see what its all about. All i know is that the red lights help with Mitochondria repair which helps the body overall!?! My wife has been wanting to try this for her face regime at night and so far so good. This mask is not made for small faces. It didn’t cover parts of my face because of this. The part for the eyes are too big and the mouth part is too. This is my first foray into red light masks, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I do like that it is easy to use. It velcros on easily with straps that wrap around your head and hold the mask to your face comfortably. It’s cordless, so you can move around and do tasks around the house while wearing it. (The ad shows someone wearing it while on a plane…technically possible, but it looks pretty weird on, so I wouldn’t recommend going out in public while wearing it. My husband and child call it my “scary mask”). It comes with two batteries so that you can easily charge and switch them out if one runs out of power. (I had this happen once while wearing it. There doesn’t seem to be any kind of low battery indicator, so it comes as a surprise when it shuts off. But I just popped the other battery in place on the mask and finished my session without issues). I like that you can set the timer and type of light on the battery itself, but that it doesn’t start until it locks onto the mask with magnets. There are lots of red lights, so your entire face gets plenty of exposure. It comes with a really nice satiny bag, the two batteries, a wipe for keeping it clean, and a pretty helpful instruction book about how to use the different light functions. But the big question is, does it work? And the answer to that is, I think so? It takes at least 4 weeks to start seeing results, and I’m on week 2 right now. The instructions say to follow a certain schedule: every 3 days for 30 minutes (4 sessions), then every two days for 25 minutes for 8 sessions, then after that you can do it every day for 20-25 minutes. I’ve done 7 sessions, and while I haven’t seen less wrinkles and firmer skin (yet), I have noticed less redness and acne.
