I bought this cord to use as an extension for for my portable AC unit that requires 1450 watts, 115 volts and pulls 12.5 amps. It works perfect. Please note, I have read it is NEVER recommended to use an extension cord with a portable AC unit, as they draw so much amperage which can risk a fire situation. That said, I was very careful with monitoring after installation. This power/extension cord never became hot and barely became warm. It's rated for appliance use and has worked perfectly for my needs. Please be sure if you choose to use an extension cord, ALL of your connections are tight and secure (AC unit > extension cord, Extension cord > wall outlet). This review is NOT an endoresement to use an extension cord with your appliances, do so at your own risk. However I can say this one has worked perfectly for me and I feel comfortable going to sleep with my AC unit on. Read more
