I love how there’s no beads in the center. I know for some people like that, but I personally can’t have that because I have ICL contact implants and usually eye masks will press against my eyeball and move the implant. So grateful they made these. Wish they stayed warm for longer (they last maybe 10 minutes) but am still super glad I got them Read more

Update: After checking the quick start guide that came with the eye mask, my wife is officially off the hook. The guide says to microwave it for 120 seconds, which is a big difference from the 15 seconds listed on the back of the box. I’m not even sure the guide actually belongs with this product since it’s so vague about what it’s for. I’m taking off one star for this oversight by the manufacturer. I also hope that if anyone ruins their mask by following the 120-second instructions, the company will step up and replace it. At the time of this review, this item was $12.90, which seems like a good value for what you get. I haven’t used it a lot yet, but the few times I have, it worked well. It’s easy to remove the microwavable heat pack from the cover and warm it up in the microwave on a plate. My wife mentioned that the instructions said to microwave it for 120 seconds, but I’m glad I stopped after 90 seconds because the actual instructions recommend just 15 seconds. Once the pack was heated, I placed it back in the cover, put on the mask, and adjusted the strap around my head. The warmth lasted for at least 10 minutes. I have a large head, so I wish the pressure points sat a bit differently, but for most people, it should fit just right. The mask didn’t touch my eyelids or eyes directly, which I liked. I haven’t tried it cold yet, but I plan to test that soon. Overall, it’s a well-made product that performs as expected. Read more

My eyes often get sore in winter from heat/screens/general tiredness, so this is a really nice way to take a break. The cover is soft and cozy, and went through the washing machine without issue (air dried after.) The size fits my slightly larger-than-average head comfortably without digging in or snagging on my curly hair. It doesn't feel like the highest quality, but definitely gets the job done for something you're only gonna use 5-10min per day. Considering how affordable it is, I think this is about as good as you're gonna get quality-wise. No complaints about the design, but you do need to undo the whole row of velcro up top to pull out the filling for microwaving which might be difficult if you don't have much hand strength. Maybe not the easiest to use for the elderly or those with arthritis, etc. When microwaving, I would check every 15sec or so in your microwave to figure out the right 'doneness', since all microwaves vary in strength. I found it to be good after about a minute in mine. Once I've gotten it hot, it stays nice and warm for at least 10 minutes. I appreciate there's no weird scent either, it's just neutral. Read more

I ordered this eye mask to help with headaches. I have been using a large microwavable heating pad for many years to help with neck, back, and other pains. I really like it, and thought a smaller eye mask version would be great for headaches and sinus discomfort. This eye mask is comfortable to wear, feels very soft, isn't too heavy, and doesn’t put pressure directly on the eye. The slightly moist heat is very soothing. I microwaved the insert for 1 minute and it stayed warm for a while. It works as well as other microwavable heating pads I have used in the past. If you are sensitive to smells, I found that this mask has a noticeable, but not necessarily unpleasant, smell after heating. The design is not very attractive, but I like that the cover is removable and washable to keep it more hygienic. Overall, it met my expectations and I think it’s an ok value. I would recommend it as an effective option. Read more

It's really nice because you can get it warmer than an electric one, and I can handle it being hotter because the heat is not directly over the eyes, but the heat still radiates to the them. It is very comfortable to wear. In my opinion it is not quite like the images, and it is difficult to evenly disburse the contents. However, while this might seem like it could be an issue, it is actually not noticeable in any kind of way when I am wearing it. I thought the directions said something about keeping it dry, so I'm not sure how it's a meant for moist heat except that just by microwaving it did seem to be causing steam over my eyes as I used it and felt great. I can already tell it’s going to be beneficial to me for my eye issues. It brought so much relief in even a short time. Read more

4 1/2 stars - I love this heated eye mask! The fabric on the cover is a soft velvet with a short nap that helps the mask stay in place and not slide around. I don't see anything on the mask label or the box about the fabric material, so I think it must be polyester. It's a double-sided mask, so I'll need to wash it half as often as I would if it was only useable on one side. The inner section of the mask is filled with flaxseeds and, according to the online description, 'mineral beads'. It fits perfectly inside the mask cover and doesn't move around inside. It gets nice and toasty warm in the microwave, and in fact can quickly become too hot, so it took a few times using it to get the timing right. For my microwave, it works best to put it on for 50 seconds and turn it over halfway through. TWO NOTES: DO NOT heat the cover, unless you want to ruin it. Velcro and elastic can very easily melt or catch on fire in the microwave, as I once learned the hard way! And since the flaxseeds inside will mold or go rancid if they get wet or oily, it's important to always use a plate when heating the inner section of the mask; if it gets wet or dirty from any food or liquid that has been spilled in the microwave, there's no good way to clean it without ruining the seeds inside.
