I purchased this item for my four year old after his tonsillectomy. It was the perfect size for his neck. Easy to get off and on. It uses Velcro. It stays cold for hours and freezes in about an hour. I bought this for when I get really bad headaches as they seem to come from my neck area and go into my head. When my problem area gets inflamed, the coolness from this helps to bring down whatever inflammation there is from within my neck and helps to ease the pain of my headache. Especially during this hot summer! Overall, this is great and helps a lot. But I knocked off one star because I feel like the coolness doesn't last long enough. Maybe like 10-15 mins at best and then it feels like room temp around my neck by that point. It does fit nice though (it's adjustable and should fit most) and the fabric is good quality. I recommend running it under some water to soak it, then popping it in the freezer so there's some extra iciness/coolness to it. Read more

This was a staple during tonsillectomy recovery. It didn’t agitate the throat and provided coolness that significantly helped with comfort. It wraps around with Velcro and has enough stretch for any size human from child to adult. It stays cold about 10-15 minutes. I contemplated on 4 stars but 3 and 1/3 more like it. I bought two for my Thyroidectomy and used them both today but the do not stay cold. You have a small window of time so buy two at least or just know you will have to return to freezer quicker than anticipated. It’s inconvenient but not the worst Other than that each come with a bag to protect in freezer, has great packaging and excellent product as far as construction fit and Velcro. I haven’t tried the warm aspect of them but I don’t need the for that. I will continue to use not completely worthless but again dont stay cold long Read more

Today was my first day using this. These do not stiffen in the freezer and have a nice gel-like texture. The cold lasts about 20 minutes and since they are soft they do not put pressure on my throat which is good as I had a tonsillectomy today. Read more
