This is a great Laptop. I've had good luck with HP. This was a Black Friday sale - $449...and I replaced my "Very old" HP mainly because of Windows 10 "no longer supported". This has plenty of storage, RAM, Fast Processor and all the bells whistles and screen clarity anybody would be happy with. No touch screen or backlighted keys though. Backlite is amazingly a feature that is non-standard...and expensive really. OK...the challenges. Mostly Windows 11. Somebody at Microsoft CHANGED PAINT. For the WORSE. WAY worse. I do screenshots, hit the PASTE button, and edit on the jpeg. NOW, after screenshot...a box comes up..and you have to "clip" the shot NOW...THEN go to a 3 tiered-drop down to find PASTE. 2 maybe 3 extra steps...and forget about screenshot after screenshot if live feed warrants it. Solution: Took me a bit of searching, but you can LOAD DOWNLEVEL versions of PAINT (Win 10 and back). I did..and I use the "old" version. You can do that with a lot of "old" programs you are used to. Windows 11 also has "COPILOT". An AI program you can talk to, and it Talks back to you. You can choose 4 male or 4 female voices. It's pretty nifty, and amazingly lifelike a lot of the time. Back to the Laptop. It boots almost immediately, good battery, very good sound systems AND Microphone - which I keep OFF from settings - who knows if it listens really. Loading about 120 gig off my other laptop took HOURS to upload to a thumb drive...and literally MINUTES to download to this new unit. Lastly - cool feature...The "webcam" camera has a "slide door" so you can black it out without taping a piece of paper over it. LOL. I've always needed just enough computer to surf the internet, do Office programs (I found a really good one that runs office stuff)...run my security camera program, and non-intense power graphics like heavy gaming. I even was able to re-create my "widgets" although a bit different, function is the same. Lastly, I found a way to transfer my bookmarks...and PLACES on Google EARTH. Bottom line: Great Laptop so far...wouldn't EVER go away from 17.3 inch...plenty of power etc. Great price, Slick sleek silver unit, and I'm good to go till they stop supporting Win 11. Day three and so far so good. Blindingly fast and easy to use. Love the big 17.3 inch HDR screen. I have one small bone to pick. I prefer to keep the taskbar on auto hide. It worked great on day 1, but hasn't worked since. A small annoyance at best. Most likely a software glitch. Just hope it doesn't take forever to iron out. Otherwise very happy. Read more

Love, love, love my new computer! My last computer wasn't compatible with Windows 11 & since I work from my computer, I needed to move quickly. I chose this computer for the larger screen, included 10-key, &16 GB RAM. The battery life is great. I've been working unplugged off & on for the last 10 hours and have only just plugged it back in. There's no drag or delay in anything I do & it was a pretty smooth transition from the old computer to this one. Excellent computer for daily use. Read more

I generally liked this laptop and would have rated in the 3 - 4 star range. There are not many options out there for a 17" screen laptop at reasonable prices and this one seemed like a good choice. Unfortunately, it had a severe problem maintaining connectivity to my wifi network. It seemed like on every click on a link to connect to a website, it failed to do so and I had to go through all the steps to re-establish connectivity. I tried it for several days and spent hours hoping that the problem would subside. I also tried turning off the power management feature that would turn off the wifi connection, switched between the private network - public network choices, and checked to make sure I had the latest driver for the chip. Nothing worked. If you surf the net and even in the Amazon reviews for this model laptop, you will find that network connectivity is not a strong suit of HP. I knew that before making the purchase. I also saw that a significant majority of the reviews on this site for this laptop were positive. So I decided to take a chance. It did not work out for me. I considered getting an identical replacement but, in the end, I bought another laptop from a different manufacturer. The new laptop, being used in the same spot as the HP, has had no problems with wifi connectivity. In summary, the HP laptop seemed like a good machine and would have satisfied my requirements. However, without consistent wifi connectivity it was totally unacceptable to me. Read more

I use this for running all 3 of my businesses and purchased another as back up. Just in case. Haven't needed it. Runs like a dream with multiple windows open and running and several screens accessed at the same time. I run telehealth visits off of it as well as bookkeeping, research, and writing. Super portable, super fast. Very pleased and I am not a tech person so I appreciate the ease of use. Read more
