The Time out is a bit too fast for me, when I am making adjustments. This can be a bit of a pain because I use it for making relative angle adjustments on a set up and when it times out I have to take down part of the set up to re zero the finder (it does not save its zero when it times out). Works great!! Came with batteries and a screwdriver to open case to install batteries. Read more
I got this because I bought a fixed-angle knife sharpening system where it is needed to dial in the angle of the bevel. It's so nice and accurate - with lots of options. Not just degrees - but %, inches per foot, mm per m. That's a lot more than just a regular bubble -level can give. The magnets are nice to have to secure it to the knife sharpening rods to pick up the proper angle. I can see a lot more potential for this other than just the sharpener too. For example, I think I'll take this with me on our trips in the RV. It'll make it a lot easier to level the RV when we set up camp. This will allow me to determine how much the low side of the trailer needs to be raised up with blocks for the left & right leveling before I do it (if the trailer is 10 feet wide and this device says the low side is going down 1/2 inch per foot - that means I'll need to raise the low side 5 inches to get it level. I've never had that information before and it'll be nice to have). Before - I was just guessing. The one thing I was torn on was that this takes two AAA batteries and you'll need to have a small Philips screwdriver to exchange the batteries. Some other brands have USB C charging ports to re-charge the on-board batteries. I don't know how long the batteries will last - but I'm kind of glad I got this one rather than the re-chargeable variety. I think this is more rugged because the battery door appears to be well sealed and there are no other openings for moisture and dirt to enter. And re-chargeable batteries go bad at which point you'd just have to toss it and buy another one. This one may last longer as long as I don't let bad batteries leak and decay in there. In the end - I'm very glad I got it. It will be perfect for the purpose I bought it for - plus a number of other uses I didn't think about before. Read more

Seemed dead on initially, but after a month of use, has deviated to 0.2deg error. Something has shifted and now it is not accurate enough to use. Read more
