Full disclosure I'm just about 83 and recently out of radiation therapy (stereotactic) It took me 5 days to put this up. 3 years ago maybe 3 hours. House was built in 1929. Originally knob and tube. Rewired in the 70s. No ground. No junction box just a 1/2 " NPT nipple anchored to ceiling joist, part needed was in the box. I kinda did a part every day. Finished in 5. Instructions were succinct and simple. All parts were well made and fit perfectly. Everything lined up. Do make sure the receiver is snugly placed in the housing. Some of the reviews about the fan direction were.. well it's not quantum physics. A quick turn of the globe and you're in. You only need do this twice a year. The remote is very intuitive and works perfectly. Use the supplied bulbs elsewhere they're 2500k. I need 5000k. The fan is dead quiet and required zero blade balancing. Complaints. This fan is a sub-assembly and for some reason only the Chinese can manufacture sub assemblies. Why can't we make this in the US? It's parts mostly automated and packed. I would gladly have paid more for a North American product All that said you won't be disappointed Read more

I bought four of these for my recent renovation. They look really nice and clean and they fade into the background. The light is nice and diffused by the frosted globe and the fans puts out a nice amount of airflow with absolutely no noise. But read on. Their Customer Service (CS) is awful! After my electrician hung all four fans, one did not work. After holding for over 50 minutes for CS, I gave up and tried the chat option. I had to answer some preliminary questions for which I had to consult my electrician. Once answered, I did not get resolution. Instead, I was given multi-step instructions involving changing the wiring of the fan which was installed. At this point I explained that I wasn’t qualified to do this. CS persisted and when I asked for a supervisor, I was told to call the same number that I originally called. I finally just bought another fan and replaced it which called for another electrician visit and more money outlay. I will continue my battle with them for a refund of this dysfunctional fan. It’s a shame because I’ve had Hunter fans in several houses over many years. It’s a shame that this formerly well-respected company has sunk to this level. Read more

Great fan. It hugs the ceiling nicely, and gives us a lot more clearance than the previous fan we had. This is important, because we have 8' ceilings. The fan is powerful, yet basically silent. We can use our Phillips Hue rgb smart bulbs with the fan, and it accommodates two bulbs, which offers plenty of light for each of our rooms, including our living room. The only issue we've had is that we have to have the brightness setting on the fan turned up all the way, or the bulbs blink (this is only the case with the Hue bulbs, not regular bulbs). However, we can adjust the brightness of the bulbs through the Hue app or Google Home without a problem, so it's not a big deal. The fan settings are easy to control, and offer a good range of power. It is also stylish, and looks great in our house. We bought a second one for our bedroom, and are considering getting a third one for the office/spare bedroom. Read more

So close - yet so very far from being a great fan. Pros: Beautiful Fan. Probably the best looking flush mount with lowest ceiling clearance in the market. Easy to assemble. (Maybe one of the best and easiest I have installed. I was super impressed here.) Puts out a a good amount of light. Parts overall look well designed and built. Cons: 1. It is the loudest motor hum of any fan I have owned. Simply ridiculous. Drives me crazy, and ruins everything good about this fan. I am not sure how others overlook this - but I promise you will notice it, and then never not notice it. 2. The light bulbs it comes with will dim to a point and then the light no longer recognizes them and stop working - and then will not brighter. When this happens you can reset it by holding the O and hitting the light button twice, or you can put a different brand of bulbs that actually work. But why did Hunter put bulb in that don't work? 3. Speed Settings and air movement are not great. Setting #1 doesn't move enough and you just hear the motor hum. Setting 2 moves too much most of the time- even louder hum. And Setting 3 is just too loud I can't ever use it. I wanted to love this fan. I bought 3 of them. It is a great looking fan, with good light output. The dimmer even works great with different bulbs than the ones it comes with. But the motor hum is horrible, and the speed settings are just off. Honestly, I hate this fan more because it could have been great but Hunter put a bad motor in it and didn't do an quality control or checking on the lights and dimming. Stay away. As much as the look and price want to pull you in. Run. Run Away. Read more

We replaced an old Hunter fan with this one and it sits closer to the ceiling and has no pull chains, so there is no manual way to control the fan. If the remote doesn't work, you can't control the fan. It is a much cleaner look and no chains to break and the lights are easy to change. You just grab the globe and turn it counter clockwise and it unscrews from the fan in 1/4 turn or so and the lights are standard bulbs, no weird small base bulbs. Highly recommend and so far so good.
