I used a swag hookup and it worked beautifully. The look is streamlined and the noise level is low, which is important when you are using it in the bedroom. The remote control with hanging holder is sleek and works great! I knew it came without a light, so I don't know what that complaining is about! I might add a light later as I really love this fan. Third one I've installed. The other 2 were installed pre-Covid and are still working perfectly fine. The "new" unit installed easily, and worked great once the installation was completed. The fans have a nice streamlined look and are great for lower ceilings. Highly recommended! Read more
It’s a pretty nice, stable and quiet fan. But after installing three of these: - Hunter needs to stop cheaping out on the super soft screws. Don’t even think about driving any of them using your power driver because the screw heads strip within a second or two. - I’m sure these are made from substandard steel and from China. So, use a regular screw driver for the entire install. - There should be a little guidance on what screws to use. As it is, there are several different size screws but they are close in size and not marked. Read more
Completely misleading. I'm really upset with myself for making this purchase and throwing away the packaging. It's not the kind of thing that's easy to return, so I'm out a lot of money. Nobody even wants to buy this on Facebook for $75. There is no light.. that smooth surface at the bottom is flat metal. The remote pictured has a button for turning the light on and off, but there is no light. Product description says "Includes Fan/Light Universal Handheld Remote Control". At the time of purchase, the technical details even listed the wattage of the non-existent lights, but it seems they fixed that. Additionally, the motor has a very irritating electrical hum. The ancient (and cheap) fan I was replacing had a quieter motor and was more powerful. The first setting is worthless, and the highest setting still doesn't do what one would expect from even a low end ceiling fan. It has a beautiful design and low profile, but other than that I am upset with myself wasting my time with this and having had the confidence in the Hunter name to discard the packaging (disassembly and repackaging would have been a nightmare anyway). Love the fan: the low profile, contemporary look, moving air very well. The remote: the bight flash when turning on is very shocking and disconcerting-esp if using during the night ( dark). The bright blue shut off light is also bright, but not as crazy as the white ‘on’ lights. Cannot understand the need to be so bright!! Read more
There is definitely an annoying harm, even on the lowest setting. Also, I feel like the listing title should include the fact there is no light. We ordered this, and my electrician had it mounted on the ceiling and installed before we realized that there is actually no light included. I could not find a compatible add-on light kit, so I ended up just wiring and aftermarket LED to the fan controls. It works fine, but would not recommend this fan. Read more
