The hits have a satisfying thunk to them and the wooden sticks are really solid. The drum does slide around a lot on smooth surfaces, so you need to make sure to put it where it can't move. I've just been putting it on my bed with a pillow behind it which works well enough. Read more

Left side requires hitting the drum stronger, which is complicated to me considering I'm right handed. (tested using the same hand to hit the entirety of the drum). Also it's too loud but hey! it's fun and though it takes time to get used to it, it works well! Read more

Seems to function nicely. I have the smaller version of this drum as well. I think if you are a casual player then the cheaper small one is more than good enough. This does have some upsides though. It worked great on my Nintendo, claims to work on other platforms but I only used it on the Nintendo. The wood sticks that come with it are a lot nicer than plastic sticks. The large size is easy to hit. The face buttons work well but are on the small side, especially considering the increased size of the drum. Doesn’t seem to role any better than the cheaper one in my opinion but I just casually play. The foot pads are large and very sticky, you really have to hit the drum hard to make it move around so I like that. On the plus side, they don’t tell you to put water bottles in this bigger one to keep it from moving. This is a nice accessory but unless you are hardcore into the game, I’d save the money and stick with the smaller one. Read more

For playing various rhythm games, such as the Taiko Drum games this controller feels way better than the plastic first party drum controller. Putting it together is simple enough, however the flat piece that goes between the legs is a little tricky as the instructions are a little unclear. I included a picture to help how it is oriented and how it slides into place (the L and R text should be faced up). Build quality overall is above my expectations. The size is large enough and has a good amount of weight to it so that it does not slide around on a table while playing. There is also a shelf portion at the bottom between the legs where some additional weight can be added. I did not have any issues with movement while using it on a glass table or on my gaming desk. I used this with my switch, and didn't have any issues plugging it in via USB, or having it recognized. While playing with it, it certainly feels much better than the original that I had, and had a lot of fun revisiting my rhythm games (so much that I may buy some more Taiko games). The drum sticks are larger and have a little more weight to them making playing longer more comfortable. Can also hit drum rolls a little easier due to the larger size. If you enjoy drum rhythm games and want to upgrade your original plastic drum, this is a fantastic option. Read more

My kids and I finally gave this drum controller a go, and we had so much fun with it. Just plug it in and start playing and right away we started having fun. It’s sturdy, responsive, and has a nice weight that keeps it from sliding around during fast-paced songs. The quality is well made, and the larger sticks make it easier on the hands. The drum has a great bounce and picks up hits well, making the whole experience smoother and more enjoyable. Definite recommend from us! Read more

I have a first party drum for the Switch but I wanted a second one for 2 player. This is a really high quality drum controller. easy to get working and to use with the switch. Worked really well. Quality on this controller is evident. It is worth the price as it is as well built as you'd expect a first party nintendo offering to be which is not always the case. Read more
