High quality filter basket that performs exactly as advertised. The machining is excellent and the basket feels noticeably more precise than the factory one. I’ve seen better flow and more consistent results since switching, especially with higher dose shots. Fits my 54mm Breville portafilter properly and seats well. A worthwhile upgrade for anyone serious about improving espresso consistency. Read more

Do I have too many baskets for my espresso machine? Maybe. 😂 But I like and use them all, so who cares?! I love the price of these, find them to be great quality (evenly spaced holes that allow me to grind muuuch finer than any of my other non-IMS baskets), they fit my MHW-3Bomber Astra bottomless portafilter great (and even work with my MHW-3Bomber magnetic dosing funnel to boot, which was NOT the case with the IMS NanoTech baskets unfortunately), and the range of sizes you can get make choosing a shot size so much easier than having to do weird math to divide shots among cups! I love the “slightly larger than a single shot” 1TH23 basket. It makes the same sort of soupy annoying pucks as my Breville single shot basket does (just par for the course with these weirdly shaped baskets) — UNLESS it’s dosed accurarelt with your grind dialed in, but makes it easier for me to have multiple espresso drinks throughout the day in smaller and more manageable doses! A 1:2 11g-12g shot comes out to about 63-75mg of caffeine, which is all I really need to get my day started! And a healthy adult can have about 400mg of caffeine a day, which means I could technically have around 5+ espresso drinks safely! But, of course, I end up only having two (one in the morning with breakfast, and one in the afternoon with lunch). Nice and even-keeled day. :) I thought this little diagram would help give a better visual and hopefully offer a nice comparison between baskets for those of us with “beginner” machines like the Breville Bambino Plus. I use exclusively dark roasts with my machine as I find them more fool proof and easier to extract. I use the largest basket size to pull shots for my giant Starbucks acrylic venti tumbler when making iced lattes! It gives a nice balance. :) The recipe goes something like: * Fill tumbler to the top with ice (crushed ice or smaller cubes are easiest to stir and work with) * Fill 9/10 of the way with milk choice * In a separate cup, pull a large double shot (IMS H28) and mix with a 1 or 2 tablespoons syrup of choice (I love the Torani “Pure” syrups which use all natural ingredients! I like the Hazelnut, Vanilla, and Caramel flavors). * Pour syrup-mixed-shot over milk and ice * Cover with lid, stir with straw, and enjoy! I hope this review helps you make the best choice for your espresso setup! I’m very happy with mine. :) Read more

The media could not be loaded. The IMS Precision 14–18g Filter Basket has been an excellent upgrade to my espresso setup. I’m using it with a Breville Barista Express and a LILQ bottomless portafilter. The fit is snug but good — it seats securely and doesn’t rattle, though it can be a bit tough to remove. Once installed, it feels very solid and well made, which inspires confidence. Build quality is exactly what you’d expect from IMS. The basket feels substantial, the holes are clean, uniform, and well aligned, and overall machining is very precise. It easily fits an 18g dose along with a puck screen without crowding. In use, performance has been excellent. I tested it with an Italian crema roast and had smooth, even flow with no channeling or spraying. Extractions were consistent and predictable, especially noticeable with the bottomless portafilter. Cleanup has also been easy, with very little coffee sticking to the basket. This basket doesn’t magically fix poor prep, but it rewards good technique with consistent results. If you’re looking to step up from a stock basket, this is a high-quality, well-performing option from IMS that’s well worth the upgrade. Read more

Overall not bad but there are pros and cons. Pros: good quality in general and feels nice but I wouldn’t say it blew me away. It fits well and in my 54 mm portafilter and works well. Taste is difficult to judge right away as I had to recalibrate a lot and grind much finer to get a good shot but it did produce a relatively better shot than the stock basket. The holes are done well and you can see in the pics how symmetrical and round they are. I got the 20 grams one and it does fit 20 grams well. Cons: this particular one I got has some minor quality issues. I don’t think it affects the functionality but worth noting given the price. It has some machining marks on the inner part of the basket (you can see it in the picture in the left side). The distribution of holes is not symmetrical. Just a bit off center. Not sure why. Hence the 4 stars. Read more

I got this IMS Precision 14 gram filter basket after scouring through Amazon for a quality basket that would deliver the “Goldilocks “ amount of coffee from my Breville Barista Express machine. This filter definitely delivers what I was wanting. It actually holds more like 15-16 grams depending on the beans, but that is what I was looking for. Super quality and fits perfectly in my stock and bottomless portafilter. The bottom is actually wider than the stock basket and has 29 rows of holes versus the 25 rows on the stock version. I am pleased with the extraction as it gives the perfect coffee I was hoping for. Not a bad price for a quality basket that was just what I wanted. This is what you need for that 8-9 ounce cup of Americano as per the formula x grams beans X 16 =ml water = perfect cup or 15X16=240. I just round up to 250 and that works great for me. Highly recommend! Read more

I bought this to use with the SP300 Staresso manual espresso maker as an upgrade. I'm giving it 5🌟 even though I needed to modify it to fit. The curved lip at the top sticks out (sideways) which made screwing in the basket holder difficult (pic2 shows after modification). But, using my angle grinder to gently file the lip down and finishing with my Dremel made quick work of it. And, no issues with attaching the holder into the chamber now. This basket is excellent 👌 as my ☕️ came out fine 🙂 👍 (3rd pic). The puck looks good 👍 too (4th pic). Read more
