This is a nice addition to an espresso setup at home. Camping the grinds without the distributor often left visible patterns or cracks which would lead to channeling and this works great to address that. The depth is adjustable by rotating the metal part within the housing. Coffee grinds to make their way into the gap between the housing and metal component when extended, but are easily blown out. This product is very well built. The adjustable feature is great so that you can calibrate it to pack the portafilter without over packing. The leveling feature is perfect to help distribute the grounds evenly before packing. Very easy to use and is very heavy not a cheep made item and performs well. Great price for a nice addition to any expresso bar! For a consistent cup of expresso this and a good dosing grinder will make you never have to buy a high price cup of coffee again. This fits my Breville well. I don't really use the distributor, but the tamper works much better that the one that came with my Breville. It's a well built chunk of stainless steel. Instead of having to press with an uncomfortably shaped tamper, this is more compact so I can put it on/in my portafilter and put my weight on it. Much better!
