I have been extremely pleased with another brand of DE blades for the past six years. I had read about the Kia blades on a wet shaving forum and decided to give them a try. The Kia blades used in my Gillette 195 preformed significantly better than the other brand. The shave was extremely smooth and efficient with no irritation or nicks at all. However, these KAI blades that i am using give such a closer shave there really is no comparison to the others. I am only on my second KAI razor in the last three months. Honestly, i only put the second one on to see if there was any difference after the 1st month. There wasn't. The first blade still shaved as close as a brand new one after a month of daily use. 1 month. Same as new. I am writing this review to juxtapose the other reviews on these razors which were not so favorable. Perhaps the other reviewers received factory rejects or something.... i don't know. The razors they're describing in no way represent my experience. If the remainder of the razors i bought (for ~$7.00) are like the first 2 i have used i easily have enough razors for the next year!!! I bought these razors myself - did not receive them for free - and i have absolutely no relationship with KAI. These are just amazing razors and folks should know such an amazing blade is available so inexpensively. Read more
These blades are very sharp. I use them in my milder razors, e.g., Feather AS-D2, Leaf Twig, Gillette Techs, Muhle R-89, Merkur 34S. Japanese quality that you come to expect. I normally get 3 - 4 shaves before tossing. Read more
These blades have a reputation for being deadly sharp, but I shave every day without cutting myself. Smooth, close, and comfortable. I get as close a shave on my coarse and thick beard with one pass as I would with two passes with other blades. As a bonus I easily get a full week's daily shaving from one edge, and could probably get more. Read more
The blades are SHARP, almost as sharp as the FEATHER brand. The problem for me is that they're inconsistent from blade to blade. First blade was smooth as silk, second one felt like an excavator bucket was doing the shaving. Maybe others have better luck with these than I did. The reviews say so, for now I'll stick with my German-made Wilkinson blades. Read more
I'm pretty new to wet shaving (started about 2 months ago and am using a Leaf Razor) but I saw people online say these are great so I thought I'd give them a try. First off, these did give me the closest shave I've ever achieved. But the downside is you have to be very mindful when using these blades. About halfway through my shave, I saw I got myself pretty good on my temple and along the side of my head. I realized that it occurred when I pivoted the razor slightly off my head, it needed to stay flat on the head to avoid this. I quickly rinsed off the razor and swapped them out for some astra platinum blades (blades that I have had no issue with shaving twice a week for about 8 weeks) and finished the shave. Now I won't say buy these blades, they are great and gave me a crazy close shave. I would just say take your time with them when shaving your head. For me, these are staying in a drawer for a little bit until I get more proficient at wet shaving. Read more
Very sharp (between GSBs and Feather) but more stout than a feather for a more comfortable shave. I also like that these come from Japan, as most of the other sharp blades are of Russian origin. Read more
If you want your face cut up to give off that hella rough guy look, these are the blades for you. Insanely sharp and aggressive shave. Might be okay in a meek razor, but I use an aggressive razor and these weren't "the one." Read more
