This was very easy install. Actually, this was my very first installation of a matter device and couldn’t have been easier. I unboxed it and plugged it into the wall and before I could do anything else, it started blinking and my Alexa app told me it was installed! When ordering I selected a checkbox that had my WiFi info pre installed. No frustration, no manufacturer’s app, just connected automatically. That said, it has performed as it should since installing it. I am pleased. Read more

As many others have mentioned, the Meross plugs have issues, that firmware updates have attempted and failed to address. Interestingly these legrand plugs are smaller in size (squaring up with the leading edge of a decora faceplate and not overlapping) yet have identical electrical ratings and certification, the same weight (while being smaller, which indicates thicker plastic or heavier components, implied by the heartier but still soft click of the relay) and do not suffer from the chronic disconnect issues plaguing Meross. My router indicates the signal quality to the legrand outlets is substantially better than the Meross, in the same outlet, tested individually, the legrand measured -67 and the Meross -74. While neither of these values are great, the difference is quite large all things considered. The only notable downsize to these legrand outlets is the 'control' app (which you don't need and I recommend you don't bother with) because it doesn't support these outlets without a Netatmo or rebranded legrand hub. I suspect legrand partnered with netatmo to develope these outlets as they appear identical to the netatmo's. The reason I consider this a downside is there is no way to update the firmware if a security exploit is discovered, but I suspect if it is that critical they will allow the app to discover devices on a network without requiring a hub. I mean hey, I've been through 3 firmware updates on the Meross plugs over the last 2 years and they haven't really made a difference whatsoever. Overall this is an obvious no brainer. They were a cinch to add as a HomeKit device and have functioned perfectly for 3 weeks. Read more

For a name brand item (the same as all the original switches in our house), the price was down with the Chinese knock offs. I don't like to buy those but sometimes they are just priced so much lower you can't ignore them. That wasn't the case with this one. One of my existing switches I am finally replacing as I never could get it to work via my Samsung hub. This one is supposed to work with Samsung Smart Things, Amazon, and others so I figured I'd give it a go. Although setup did not go as smooth as it was made out to be. However, after calling customer service (U.S. based) he was able to walk me through it and eventually got it set up. Once that was done, a routine was set up via Alexa and it now works perfectly. I went back today to order another one and it was now over $2 less than my first purchase, making it an even better deal. Read more

Like the looks, functions well once you get it added.. I've added many matter devices and this one proved more problematic than the others which were very simple to add. First, Alexa immediately added it as a wifi device before I even realized it. Not what I wanted as I needed to commission it as a Matter device in order to use my Hubitat smart hub. Did a factory reset and then went through the steps in Alexa to commission plug as a matter device. First two attempts (with factory reset between) failed. Alexa would go through the various "found" "setting up" steps, everything seeming to work, and then end with the message "Not certified as a Matter Device." Alarming and I was getting ready to send it back. But, why not one more try. After another factory reset and retry, Alexa fully commissioned it. I could easily then add it to Hubitat using the code Alexa provided for such purposes. So persevere. I have need for several and am pleased enough that I am ordering 2 more. Read more
