Yep! Works with Ring.

Marc A. DunningJuly 25, 2025

Works great with my Ring z-wave system. READ the instructions re: adding it to your system. It's a bit non-intuitive but works if you follow the directions, which I, of course, did not at first. Read more

Good low power Z-wave lamp dimmer

ericMarch 1, 2020

This device works well with the 100W equivalent LED lamps I have plugged into it. I found a one-to-three polarized plug adapter without ground pin (this unit cannot accept a plug that has a ground pin) so that I could plug two (or three) lamps into it. The lamps can be set at any level from full on to off with no flickering or other problems. I’m using Home Assistant on my Z-wave controller, and use this to automatically turn the lights on or off at specific times. I can also use the Home Assistant app on my phone to turn them on or off, or set any brightness level in between. Read more

After many years of wanting to set up a smart home I'm finally dipping my toes in the waters

Joe CoolDecember 19, 2017

After many years of wanting to set up a smart home I'm finally dipping my toes in the waters. Tried X-10 years ago and it wasn't very good so I've been waiting for things to standardize and become less confusing. There is still a confusing variety of standards and devices out there but Z-Wave seems to be popular and supported by a number of manufacturers, with a large suite of devices. I went with the Samsung SmartThings hub as my controller. First thing to know is that there are now new (as of this year?) Z-Wave Plus devices out there. Go with these - they seem to have more features, can connect across longer distances, and have lower power requirements (important for sensors that are battery operated). I didn't realize this distinction and accidentally bought some older Z-Wave devices, which I've swapped out now for all Z-Wave Plus. Regarding the Leviton Dimming Plug, they have been great so far (just had a couple of weeks). Simple to set up, and I like that you can disable the LED if you are using these in bedrooms. The plugs have been working perfectly so far. There is one downside, or missing feature, that keeps me from giving this a five-star rating. Apparently the plugs do not remember the last dimming level - they always return to 99%. This is disappointing and seems unnecessary - how hard could this be? Also, as noted, the default level is 99%, not 100%. Not a big deal and not noticeable in use, but why 99%? This seems arbitrary and odd. If it weren't for these couple of small issues I'd give the plug a five star rating. Read more

Works with Abode

b. charlesSeptember 30, 2025

Works with Abode out of the box. Abode CUE automation can use ON/OFF function to set length of time to run and dimmer function to set brightness. Read more

Dependable Z wave dimmer

BGHDecember 11, 2022

Z wave dimmers are more expensive that WiFi remote switches. They also require a hub to work (I use a Raspberry Pi with usb plugin hub I got on Amazon). Advantage is the use of the Home Assistant software with lots of features and the port forwarding so I can control all devices from outside the house. I also have many devices (collected over the years) and they would increase WiFi traffic and limit the number of WiFi devices. If you want one or two remote switches then the WiFi ones will do the job, otherwise for a full house solution, the extra work (and study to figure it out) of a hub based system makes it worth it. I am able to use the Home Assistant to control the Read more

Not fully compatable with VRCPG

humbug2April 12, 2024

Unit is supposed to remember brightness when "off" is given. It does not. "on" turns on with zero brightness which can manually be brought up using "+" . Consequently your profiles and events do not turn on visible light. And so essentially useless for me. whois or other ways to get info from unit do not work. If anyone can give me guidance I would greatly appreciate it as I have several of these devices around the house and they are old. If this worked as documented I would be getting a few more for new application. Read more

Responsive, Easy to Install Z-Wave Dimmer

JoshJuly 29, 2020

I have a bunch of Z-Wave home automation devices, and the Leviton Decora Smart components generally seem to be the most responsive and easiet to use. This is no exception. I plugged a set of strand lights into it and can now setup some really lovely scenes on my back patio using SmartThings, Alexa, and Home Assistant for control. Great product! Read more

configurable, small, does the job!

Matthew DittrichJune 1, 2020

I'm using two of these to control LED wall lamps in my living room. They do a nice job of repeating the Z-Wave signal and dimming the lights as they should. Also very nice that the LED behavior is user-controllable via a configuration parameter. (See the user guide for details.) I'm not sure why the factory default setting for the minimum brightness level is 10, but I changed mine to 1 (configuration parameter again), and it's working just fine all the way down to 1%. I'm controlling them via Indigo on my Mac and an Aeotec Z-Stick. Read more
