After our 19 yr old Pioneer plasma TV started to go bad, I researched many other TVs before deciding on this LG 86NANO90UNA model. One of the most important factors for us was the issue of screen burn-in, as many reviews of the OLEDs experience that problem. So any OLEDs were out of the question for us, because most channels we watch have a constant logo in the corner, and our TV can be on for many hours a day. We went to our local big-box store and saw this LG 86" TV in person (the NanoCell looks AMAZING! Compared to the other LEDs and OLED/QLEDs they had hanging next to this, and it looked very comparable to the QLEDs). So we had the store deliver it, since many reviews on here said they arrive broken, and unfortunately that's the nature of the beast. It arrived perfect condition. WARNING: It is HEAVY!!! Unboxing was so easy I couldn't believe it! (Just remove these little black plugs and follow instuctions on box). We put the legs on (which was VERY easy), tested it, then had professional installers hang it over our fireplace because it's about 120lbs. and too heavy for us to lift that high. It's now a month later, and we just LOVE this TV!!! Picture and sound quality are amazing! The internal speakers have a surprisingly huge sound! However, we did have to fine tune the settings first!! The default settings are to make it look extremely bright as in a store demo. With the default settings, fast motion, dark movies, and certain channels look terrible, with lag and frame rate drop. Honestly, the default settings are SO overprocessed, you really don't need all those things for a great picture! Less is definitely more here. So after tweaking a lot of settings (some suggested by others, some from Consumer Reports, and some I've found by extensive testing), below are the best settings we found. These settings look great with everything we've watched so far!!! *** BEST SETTINGS *** From the Settings menu -> Picture (Standard) Aspect Ratio: Original, Energy Saving: Off, Additional Settings: Everything Off Picture -> Aspect Ratio Settings Aspect Ratio: Original, Just Scan: On Picture -> Picture Mode Settings Backlight: 90, Contrast: 95, Brightness: 50, Sharpness: 30, Color: 60, Tint: 0, Color Temperature: 0 Picture -> Picture Mode Settings -> Advanced Controls Dynamic Contrast: Medium, Dynamic Color: Off, Color Gamut: Auto, Super Resolution: Low, Gamma: Medium Picture -> Picture Mode Settings -> Picture Options Noise Reduction: Off, MPEG Noise Reduction: Off, Smooth Gradiation: Off, Black Level: Auto, Real Cinema: Off, Motion Eye Care: Off, LED Local Dimming: Medium, TruMotion: Off Note: Once you make any change, the Standard settings will show "Standard (User)" Hope this info is helpful to you!
