I have used the knock-offs in the past but they don't last and the water always has a chemical taste. I went back to the original LP filter and glad I did. Water tastes great and they're so easy to pop in after you remove the old. They cost more but I get at least 6 months on mine with 2 of us in the house, so you get what you pay for.
