This thing just improved my quality of sleep by like 10000%. I have tried SEVERAL different types of toppers for my very firm memory foam mattress, and over the past 2 years have probably wasted tons of money because they were too firm, or too hott, or too jelly ect. ect... this one is JUST RIGHT! Straight out of the box I was disappointed it was kinda flat and lifeless and it smelled terrible. However, through it im the dryer with some dryer sheets and it fluffed up a bit and smelled better. Still was less fluffy than I preferred the first 24 hours or so... but with time and use it's fluffed right up and now I can't imagine sleeping on anything else! When I opened the box and saw no label on the packaging I started to doubt if I’d like this mattress pad. Then I took it out of the packaging and saw it was a weird green color that reminds me of something you would find on hospital beds. And the underside of the cover looks like plastic. You’ll see in my pictures that I have this pad on top of my old, latex lined mattress protector and how very glossy and plastic-y it looks. BUT, despite a bad first impression: - There was NO off gassing (strong smell) when I opened, which really surprised me - It is OEKO TEX certified (which I hadn’t even realized), - And the top of the pad is very soft I’ve slept on it for a week and it’s been 100% noise free and it’s a comfortable pad to sleep on. I definitely recommend, even if it’s an ugly green lol UPDATE Over several months, I’ve had to deal with the corners coming out of position because the fabric that’s used to keep the pad in place is too stretchy. I don’t recall it being like this before so I think this is something that has developed while using it. As a foster mom we're required to cover the mattresses with a waterproof covering. The first ones I bought were plastic and they did not hold up well at all! I love this mattress cover because it looks and feels like a regular mattress protector but still provides the water proofing that you want. I have an elderly, sick kitty and with that occasionally comes some unwanted bodily fluids, and usually on my bed, of all places. I get mattress protectors often because I go through them rapidly. This one is pretty standard - definitely waterproof, but not on the sides so be careful; I tend to layer them so I can quickly replace them, so it's usually a full-coverage waterproof topper on the bottom, plus this and another on top. No leaks, tears, etc. It's not super thick but I don't want or need it to be. The stock image right now looks inaccurate - it shows a mattress topper, but that's not what this is, it's just a mattress protector like a waterproof sheet. No complaints! Read more
