This alarm clock helps me have a more natural biorhythm despite my usual sleep schedule. It is feature-rich, something I will continue to use every night, but it is not perfect. If, like me, your sleep schedule doesn’t align with natural sunrise/sunset, you may also find this a great help. I often have to go to bed when it’s still light out, and get up when it’s dark, which means if I want to wake up to a sunrise of sorts, it has to be simulated. What this clock is best at is providing the most gradual and gentle brightening for an LED lamp. Starting with a small amount of light on the sides, and filling in to the top, and shifting from a warmer to a cooler light, like it should to mimic sunrise. I have been using an inexpensive programmable RGB LED lightbulb in my bedside lamp that has a sunrise setting, however, it starts at 1% brightness, which even in a yellow or red color is bright enough that it wakes me immediately. It is not gentle enough, unlike this clock. There are many nice alarm sounds, and you can set the alarm volume, but I cannot use any of them. When you turn off the alarm, it turns off the lamp, too, which is a problem as I keep my bedroom pitch black. The lamp will turn off automatically after 20 minutes, which is what I usually allow. Additionally, while it does brighten gradually, its brightest setting isn’t bright enough to be “morning” for me, so I still have my other lamp turn on after this clock reaches full brightness. I would need the output at full brightness of this lamp to be double what it is for it to be adequate for me on its own. Other people may find it bright enough, this is just my experience. That it is also a nightlight where you only have to touch the outside of the ring is wonderful, especially since you can choose what color it will be when it comes on. That lets you can avoid blue light or harsh light if you need to get up briefly at night. Another feature that many other people would enjoy, but I haven’t needed is a sleep countdown timer, which dims the light and plays white noise or other soothing nature sounds. It is a nice feature. It has a type A USB outlet on the back so you can charge your phone with it. The good things about this clock are really good. If I could have it turn on a quiet alarm of birds near the end of the sunrise effect, that would be nice. Buttons that are easier to read would also help. Most of them you don’t need to change often, so I think they could have located some on the side or back and made them bigger. The look of the clock is a bit more modern than I prefer for my decor, but the sunrise function and easy to turn on perfect nightlight are now essentials for my bedroom. Easily, I would recommend this clock to anyone who could benefit from a sunrise simulation and a great touch nightlight, or the other nature-mimicking features they may benefit from. I would only hesitate to give it to someone like one of my older family members who I feel would struggle with the complexity of the instructions. Read more
