I bought this MagSafe suction car mount for a newer iPhone, and it’s been holding steady even on rough roads. The magnetic connection feels strong, locking in place instantly without slipping, and the suction base stays put once set, no wobbling or falling off the dash. After trying many magnetic mounts with adhesives or vacuum suctions on glass, plastic or air vents finally found a one that stays in place. I was surprised that this unit needed charge, but as you use it, the motor inside compensates and corrects constantly for a great vacuum. It is very strong and stays on the surfaces without failure for long term use. It is very simple to apply on any surface. Holds on the phone very strongly, been using for about 3 weeks without any drop events. Mount itself haven't moved or detached either. Time to time, I can hear the motor working to pull more vacuum. First I have to let you know that when used on a solid surface, this item sticks well to it and requires little charging. When on a non solid surface, like a car dash, that has texturing, this item consistently attempts to create vacuum to keep itself in place and runs out of juice fairly quickly and even with the attempted suction will not stay upright with a phone on it. I have had a variety of suction cup phone holders from LISEN. This one is one of the more recent iterations. While this one seems to be more geared towards newer iPhones and MagSafe, I am using it with a Samsung S21 in a TPU case. I wanted to try this in my cupholder as I currently have one that twists to apply pressure to the walls of my cupholder. It was easy enough to place the adhesive surface on the bottom of the cupholder. The device is super quiet compared to previous versions. The motor that does the suction is quiet that I would probably not hear it while I was driving and had music playing. The suction mount held very well on the adhesive pad. No fault of the product, but it wasn't tall enough to be used in the cupholder well enough. My phone was sitting way too low and too close to my middle console. I did not try any other surfaces in the car as I do want to to run my charging/data cable across and/or up my dashboard or console screen or did not want to attach it to my car screen like in the photos (why would I cover up my car's screen with my phone screen?) The look and feel of the product is top-notch. It has a good, durable weight to it. It is made of what feels like high-quality metal. It does require a little effort to move and position the magnetic mount head, but you can be assured that it will not move while the car is in motion. I would deduct one star, but don't feel it is the product's design flaw. The magnet is not strong enough to keep my phone attached securely to the magnetic mount. Let me explain. Since I do not have a mag-safe phone or phone case, I will have to use the metal ring attachment. I tried the ring on the inside of my case, and while it held, it did not hold well enough. I would have to place the ring on the outside of my case for it to work properly. Directions do suggest installation of the ring on the outside of the case, but I do not want to do that as it attracts dust and can catch on things. I am deducting one star for price. It is fairly expensive at $40 and even at $32 with a coupon that seems to be offered a lot on LISEN products. I feel like around $20-25 would be a good price point. Customer service for me has been great as they reached out when they saw I had issues with a previous product and offered me suggestions and options to help. Read more
