I've only used it once but so far so good! When I got it I did wash/rinse it out. Then dried it, heated them to get moisture out, then used some avocado oil to season it a bit. They do come pre-seasoned but for sanitary reasons I'll always wash out a dish before using it. I wanted a softer crust so I used one on top of another and only let it brown for a few minutes. The bread popped right out! I do wish they'd create a lid for these, because it is bulky trying to put one on top of another but overall my family went crazy over the bread and it was very nonstick. My concern over time is obviously rusting but I overall like lodge products a lot in general. I love that they're made in the USA. They're high quality, easy to use if you know how to use cast iron, they bake well, eventually they'll be seasoned to my liking as well which makes everything taste even better! My only concern is how little verstile they are but I'm going to see how they do with banana bread! Oh, they are very heavy though. Read more

Out the gates excellent. Wife caught the bread bug to make better options for our son who is autistic. With a little parchment paper, she is making picture quality loaves. No stickiness to the coating on the loaf pan from the factory. Deep dark black color. Holds the heat extremely well and has produced a few dozen awesome loaves so far. Do not be scared to buy this heirloom product. Read more

Ordered these for homemade sandwich bread because I don’t want to use non-stick anymore. These are surprisingly non-stick, just add a little oil and rub all over the pan first, and the bread just pops right out. Cooks very evenly, and the bread comes out perfect. I just wipe clean with a wet cloth and they are good for the next use. Absolutely worth the money! Read more

I don’t know why or how I didn’t have one of these but wow!!! I had been wanting another loaf pan and was gifted a small caraway one. I got on here to find another one and decided to purchase the cast iron and I’ve not been disappointed!! The quality of this pan is great- I haven’t had any issues with sticking. It cooks as expected as well. If you’re not used to a small loaf pan the size may throw you off guard but it’s WAY better making smaller loaves I’ve found. Read more

I love it. It came just in time for my bread baking time . . I wondered if it was large enough when I first saw it. I washed it and oiled it and made my largest loaf . . which is a Greek yogurt bread . . . It fit . . it baked a lovely toasty brown and when ready to remove the baked loaf, it slid right out smoothly. After I rinsed it out, I oiled it again and set it on the heater vent to dry. I love cast iron and . . I am completely happy with my new bread pan. The old aluminum pans were giving off an nast scent of aluminum after a baking and I just wanted to switch to iron. Heavy though . . but I can handle it. Read more

this is what I bake my bread in. I haven’t bought a loaf of bread and almost a year I think all of my bread. These are the best. I just give it a little oil before I put the dough into rise in it and have my oven ready and I let it rise and then put it in as it works perfect. Read more
