This is a nice durable chair mat. I did allot of research and found the way to go is with a Polycarbonate hard plastic mat. I have wood floors and this mat works great. My wood floors are not slick so this mat stays in place fairly well. It doesn't slide as noted in other reviews. I bought size 48" X 60" so it came rolled up in a box. I immediately took it out of the box and unwrapped it. Be careful because it does spring open rather quickly. From that point on it laid flat and true on the floor. Did not need to use weighted books or objects on the corners. It's frosted transparent and does show some of the wood floor below. Having it completely transparent is not something I cared about. My main concern is to protect the floor. I would recommend this product and would buy it again. Read more

So far it seems to be protecting the floor, which is my main priority. It also laid flat immediately and appears durable. However, my chair slides so easily across it, I find it hard to stay in one place at my desk. It’s like my chair is ice skating! That’s the only downside for me. Read more

I've tried so many chair mats and finally found the perfect one. It's so tough and durable, there's no scuffs whatsoever even after months of use. It's firm and thin and tough as nails. I'm a big guy and even the pricey mats allowed the chair wheels to plow into it on hardwood floors. The wheels would deform all the previous mats almost as bad as the thin ones from the local office store do on carpet, but this floor doesn't have padding. I thought I was going to have to pay really big $$$ for a tempered glass mat but this on is perfect. Yes it slides around from time to time and I have to reposition it about twice a week, but who cares. Plastic is going to slide on hardwood unless you glue/nail it down. I'm thrilled. Read more

As a warning, the product description is not accurate. The chair mat is rolled up. The product description indicates that it is flat. As a note to the person or AI that reviews the reviews, this is a review of the product not of the packaging. The product comes in two forms, rolled up and float. There are two prices for these different products and they are very different for obvious reasons. My review is that, if you order the flat version of the product, you will get the rolled up version for the 48x51. If you want the flat version, you will not want to order this product. Read more

The two mats that we ordered are both one inch shorter in both dimensions than advertised. So, if you really need one that is the full size (36" x 48"), then you may want to try another brand or buy a larger one to cut it to fit. Read more
