Starting off with 5 stars as a fist impression. Arrived safely packaged and it is a beautiful pan. It's the perfect size for two! These pans are heavy so I didn't want something too big or too small. This is perfect! I'm impressed. I have used it twice so far and it has been very easy to clean. The key to prevent sticking is lower heat and add enough oil or butter to the pan before cooking. This pan holds heat very well. You can cook on lower temps than other pans, but you do have to be patient and allow it to heat. Read more

I absolutely love this little cast iron braiser!! It's easy to lift, cooks and sears wonderfully and it fits amazingly into my little new countertop Ninja double-door oven. I have searched for over a year for a small braiser since I am cooking for one (me!) and I just had surgery on my right shoulder. I sent two other ones back to Kohls because they claimed to be smaller but they were not. This one is the perfect size for a cassolet, a half a chicken or a couple of game hens. It fits into the oven even with the lid on, which is unusual but great! I am in love with it! Cleans up super easy and quickly with no scrubbing. I LOVE the green color as well. It is very well made, sturdy and there are no nicks or blemishes on the edges of the bottom pan. You cannot go wrong getting this cookware if you are cooking for one or two people. Read more

I haven't cooked in it yet but I absolutely love the size of it. It will be perfect for our 2 person meals. The color is really nice. It doesn't have those drip points (self-basting spikes) under the lid which is unfortunate but not a deal breaker. I've attached photos with measurements. One even has a cat in it for scale lol. From handle to handle is 11". The lid diameter is 9". Outside depth without the lid is 2.25". Height with lid on is 4". So cooking area is about 9"x9"x2" and storage size is about 11"x9"x4". The pan arrived in perfect condition and cleaned as easily as our other enameled cast irons. I expect it to cook well but I'll revise my review if I run into any problems. I was looking for a small enamel cast iron that would fit in my Ninja double oven and this is perfect. I've used it twice now to sear bone-in chicken thighs (seasoned skin with spices, with a bit of olive oil in the pan) and then finishing off in the oven to ensure cooking. The pan is small but perfect for 4 small chicken breasts. The chicken has been delicious each time (with a natural jus created from the over-cooked chicken) and clean up has been a breeze, and the enamel glaze did not stain at all. This pan is excellent quality and I am so happy, as I was considering the French brand (slightly bigger at 2.25 quart) but four times the price, even on sale. Looking forward to making steaks now! Great size if cooking for 2, or for a side dish. (Chef tip that I learned - if your meat is sticking, don't be tempted to move it, and also, leave it to sear a few minutes longer, and it will release naturally). Read more

MegaChef (brand) 2 QT round cast iron braiser pan, dark blue: WOW. You won't regret getting this braiser if you're looking for something to prepare dishes for 1-2-3 people. We already have a 3 1/2 QT cast iron Dutch oven which has served us well for many years, but we find ourselves making smaller meals these days. We're fixing a lot of cube steaks with gravy, Salisbury steaks, and chicken fried steaks, and also pasta with ground round & enchilada sauce. This 2 QT braiser is plenty big enough to fix those types of meals for 1-2-3 people, maybe even 4 if portions are generous but not wild. We generally can feed 2, and have leftovers the next day. What I didn't see in the pictures are the measurements for this braiser. So, if you're looking for measurements, here goes. First of all, the pan with its lid is 12 LB. The pan with its lid in place is 4 1/2" tall. The pan itself has an inner diameter of 8 3/4". The depth of the pan (on the inside) is 2". The functional cooking area at the bottom of the inside is 7 3/4". The measurement from the outside of one handle to the outside of the other handle is 12". Hope that helps. This is a well-made item. There are no flaws in the finish. It was shipped in a very secure setup of a box within a box, and plenty of styrofoam to cushion the pan. The blue color is a very lovely navy with a little bit of gradient. I was happy to see that the gradient is quite slight because I think some manufacturers (coughcoughlodgecoughcough) go overboard with the gradation and I just don't like the look. Just my personal preference. So, get this braiser pan and get yourself some cube steaks and you'll have a tasty meal! Read more

This is my most used pot in the kitchen. I bake broil and roast in this pan. It is amazing. Cleans so easy, easy wipe. Lighter than larger sizes makes it great for a senior. I bake bread, brownies, fish, pork chops, you name it. It heats evenly which is what you want. Handles all temps great. Big plus, fits in my BD extra wide toaster oven! Read more
