I purchased two meross MSG150 kits receently to replace an aging Chamberlain MyQ setup, and I couldn’t be happier. One unit is on a brand-new LiftMaster opener and the other is on a 25-year-old LiftMaster that’s still going strong. The newer opener worked perfectly right out of the box with no extra parts. The older one needed the additional sensor cable, and after a quick email to Meross support with my opener’s model and age, they shipped the cable to me for free. Their responses were fast (usually within hours), friendly, and got the job done with no hassle. Setup through the Meross app was super simple; it walks you through everything clearly and even tests the setup for you. Adding both controllers to Apple HomeKit was instant—no hub required. Reliability has been night-and-day better than my old MyQ bridge. No random disconnects, no “offline” errors, and Siri responds instantly whether I’m home or miles away. I also really appreciate the auto-close feature—I have both doors set to close automatically after 30 minutes if they’re left open, and it’s already saved me a couple of times. For anyone in the HomeKit ecosystem looking for a garage door controller that just works, I can’t recommend the Meross MSG150 enough. Two units, two very different openers, zero headaches. Worth every penny. Read more

Being an Apple user I have used Meross products to automate home functions in the HomeKit environment. I have had success with all their product so far. That is why I decided to try the garage door opener. My garage door Liftmaster is a 2011 version that the Meross product was said to work with. The installation was very easy. It opened and closed with ease but did not recognize whether it was open or closed and I received error messages with each opening or closing. I contacted Meross and their customer support proved to be excellent. Hence the five star rating. After a few firmware upgrades and whatever magic they did behind the scenes the opener now works flawlessly. Even though it took 3 or 4 emails to finally resolve the product they worked doggedly to make sure I was satisfied with my purchase. If you are in an Apple HomeKit ecosystem the Meross products and their support team can't be beat. Thank you Meross for the best tech customer service I have ever received. Read more

They're not kidding, this module is plug-n-play compatible with even the newer garage door openers, and HomeKit setup was a breeze. One installation note: if your garage door opener has the spring-clip wire connectors, you might need to cut off the tinned portion of the Meross wires. The stranded wire works much better in those clips, especially when it's alongside the existing wiring. Read more

I have three of the MSG100 openers and they are fine. this is such a great idea, but it's not well thought out. the interface has no way to troubleshoot or configure. I have a basic liftmaster opener and the install was textbook. But it doesn't work and there is no way to troubleshoot,. Good idea, poor implementation. Read more

This helps calm the nerves. The amount of times I've turned around on my drive because I can't remember if I shut my garage or not, these days are no more. With integration with Apple HomeKit I am able to see the current state of my garage if it's open or closed. With this, it even pops up in my apple CarPlay to allow me to open and close the garage from my car. When used with the Meross app I can even set delays where if the garage is open it will automatically close after an amount of time I tell it. For me that's 15 minutes. As a security feature I even have the setting to alert me on my phone when the door has been opened or closed The wiring was a little tricky and the wire nuts were hard to figure out for someone that hasn't done electrical work before. As a tip, the wire clamps you bend the level back firmly. You may be like me and thing you're going to snap the clip but just force it and you'll be fine. Read more

The instruction manual wasn't as straightforward as I'd hoped, but I eventually got the unit installed and configured to work with the phone app. I had to set it to the Security+ 1.0 protocol (pressing the single button on the device three times in quick succession cycles it between the communication modes). Anyway, it is working, and I can raise and lower the garage door using the app. I wish you could interrupt the raising and lowering, like you can using the remote or the wall switch, but you can't, as far as I can tell. Despite these quibbles, I like the product overall. Read more

I have a LiftMaster yellow button opener. Wiring the Meross unit into the red and white terminals was simple and easy. The gray terminal has an extra wire so it was simple but not that easy. I used a jumper and the included three wire connector for the gray wire. The Meross app was not needed to connect the device to Apple Home. Added as an accessory by scanning the QR code worked perfectly! It even shows up in Car Play automagically! Read more

I have been waiting for a device like this for a long time now. I currently have a Chamberlain MyQ garage door opener and hated how they dropped HomeKit support. I also was weary of pulling the trigger on the older models of the Meross garage door openers due to not wanting to run a lot of wires everywhere and make the garage look bad — not to mention my garage door opener has a yellow learn button and I would have needed an additional accessory to be sent to me. This new model that that they came up with is very plug and play. There are barely any wires visible and I did not need to be sent an additional accessory to make it work. Everything works flawlessly in terms of using the home app on my phone, asking Siri, and also using it on the screen in my car to open the garage door. I am very pleased with this purchase! Read more
