I have not used this pot yet, but it appears to be high quality and is certainly attractive. It is hefty and can easily travel from stove to table for serving. I like to glass lid which allows you to see how food is cooking without lifting the lid. I am happy with y purchase. Read more

This Michelangelo pan is truly a 12-inch. A 12-inch Cuisinart lid fits it. The bottom is flat, inside and outside. The glass lid is only slightly curved and contains a vent hole. It is large enough to make paella. It is rather light weight for a pan this size; I did not want anything real heavy. I also did not want a long handle on such a large pan; but two small handles. That wish list is hard to find in this size, quality and price point (I shopped around). You can find better quality, yes, but you would pay 2 or 3 times the price. The Michelangelo I received is not perfect; it has a "dimple" and some waviness in the bottom (see photo). I have no idea if that will affect longevity. So far I have used it for spaghetti sauce, slum gully (i.e. one pan Spanish noodles), sauerbraten patties, and meatballs with mushroom truffle sauce. It cleans up just as well as any other stainless steel pan. I use Barkeepers Friend for tougher cleaning and for spots. I usually don't have room for it or the lid in the dishwasher, but I did once and it came out great. This size and configuration of pan is versatile for my pan frying and oven roasting. Read more

The pan lid arrived with a slight dent--enough to be annoying, but not enough to justify returning it for a new one. The pan itself seemed lighter weight on the bottom than the product description indicated, and the lip of the pan was thin to the point of being almost sharp. The pamphlet in the box had grammatical typos that are typical for things bought online, and I wouldn't be bothered...except that the product description and the pamphlet itself are clearly trying to imply that this is a German brand/a brand that has been around a while. It seems a little duplicitous (and unnecessary). I'm leaving 3 stars because it is a pot, and it will hopefully be functional, but I wouldn't recommend it or buy it again.
