This stick vac is a replacement for an LG stick vac. While the LG still has good suction (although not as good as the Miele) the on/off button isn’t reliable so sometimes it won’t turn off so I have to remove the battery to get it to turn off. Hence the purchase of the Miele. I have a Miele canister vac and love it. So even though this was kinda pricey, I decided to give it a try. I love that you can position the dirt catcher part in a possible 3 positions. I have mine in the lowest position and the vac is very maneuverable. I may raise it to the middle position so that it can reach even further under furniture. I love the suction power, even on my wool living room rug. It does great! If you follow the dirt emptying directions, it’s easy to empty. The battery life is also great. I can vacuum almost all of my 2200 sq ft upper level on one charge, including the living room rug. Today's update: A month after my email to Miele customer service, I get a call from them today. The rep challenges my statement that Triflex doesn't not have the suction power of Miele's canister vacuum (which they claim in their advertisement). He says this is just my "feeling", and if I had it tested. I say: "Ok, let's have it tested, and if it is not equivalent, refund me or give me credit." To which he responds: "That is not an option." - This tells you all you need to know. 1/4 Worst customer service experience to date: Most disheartening was the bad customer support experience from Miele USA customer service. First, I was sent to go to an “authorized servicer” to have the unit expected before they could determine next steps. What they failed to mention the minor detail that I would have to pay $40 to the authorized servicer just to look at the unit. The Miele USA customer support team also told me both in writing and over the phone that customers who purchase through Amazon should not expect the same support. In other words, don’t expect any customer support for your e is no customer service for this premium priced product. Sidenote: Every one of their representatives misspelled my name in their emails. Doesn’t bother me much in and off itself, but it is indicative of the overall customer service experience you should expect. 2/4 No suction power: The product description on Amazon reads “As strong as Miele’s most powerful corded vacuum series. For perfect cleaning results on all floors.” –Not even close! I know because I have had 2 Miele corded cleaners. Suction power isn’t great out of the box and degrades quickly. In particular when vacuuming fine dust, I noticed that suction power degrades to the point where a coffee bean was too heavy to suck up. I stopped using the large suction head and instead used the small upholstery attachment to get a little more suction power. It improved suction power a little, but it is obviously not a great workaround for vacuuming a room. Others in the Amazon reviews have said that this vacuum blows dust away rather than in. I have experienced this on the sides of the vacuum head. 3/4 Poor battery life: Product description says “Li-Ion battery for up to 60 minutes run-time.” Battery life topped out at 20 min for me. I could not finish vacuuming my apartment in one session but had to recharge in-between. Essentially, you need to purchase a second battery to finish the job in one session. Frequent filter cleaning: Product description: “Maintenance-free Hygiene Lifetime Filter with >99,9% dust retention capacity.” – Completely misleading. Thorough cleaning the dust container and filters of this unit has to be done after every cleaning session if you want to maintain even the semblance of any suction power. It is a finicky messy process. See next paragraph… 4/4 Build quality: The parts of this vacuum don’t easily come apart or snap ack together. Which matters in particular while cleaning. Changing attachments, disassembling, and reassembling the dirt canister and filters is always a finicky job. Nothing clicks in properly. As others have shared in the reviews here, people struggle to lock the dirt canister back into the handle. “Twist2Open” feature not so great. Bottom line: Bye-bye, Miele. I was a big Miele fan for 25 years, raving to friends about their product. Sad to say, hardly any of the claims Miele makes in their product description held up. One poor product experience wasn’t going to change my estimation of the Miele brand. But the customer service experience provided by Miele USA succeeded. Miele’s motto is “immer besser”, meaning “always getting better.” Time for a new motto. Read more

I had a Dyson v7 that I got from one of those bulk warehouses. The thing was okay but I really disliked the need to hold down the trigger and how short the run time was when on high suction (maybe 5 minutes). So I was away from home for 3 months and when I returned the battery on the Dyson would die after about 20 seconds of running on high. None of my other battery powered devices had this issue, only the Dyson. I tried to cycle the battery a few times but it did not help. So I returned the Dyson to the store and bought this Miele. I'M SO GLAD THE DYSON DIED!!! This Miele is incredible in comparison to the Dyson. I love how the battery and motor sit right above the brush head to minimize fatigue and improve the effectiveness of the brush. I love that there is a Low/Med/High switch instead of a trigger. I love that the vacuum can easily be reconfigured. I love that I get almost an hour of run time on low and I have not figured out how long I can get on High (it keeps running when I need it, then it goes on the charger). I love that the battery is replaceable so you can have an extra one available to keep going longer if needed. For a battery powered device the suction is fantastic. I love how easy it is to remove the beater brush for cleaning. As stated in other reviews, emptying the catch basin takes a little bit of learning but once you understand how it works it's easy. Also, this stick vacuum is heavier than the Dyson but not by much. Overall this cost ~2X as much as the Dyson but is about 1000X better. Fantastic product that I expect will work for many years to come. Read more

I have been a Miele fan for many years and would not have any other vacuum than their cannister vacuum in my house. So when I was looking for a quiet, lightweight, stick vacuum for our upstairs, decided to check out Miele. Yes, the vacuum is lightweight, relatively quiet and has very good suction power. It also has the infamous Miele swivel head which I love. In short, it is easy to use. However, unlike it's amazing cannister cousin, it does not appear to pick up directly against the baseboard. Surprisingly, the battery lasts only about an hour--I guess it does depend on what you are vacuuming up; and the cannister appeared to require frequent dumpings. It is supposed to be able to adjust from carpeting to hardwood floors. It works great on berber style, short pile carpeting as well as hardwood flooring--although my cannister Miele excels on hardwood floors as well as thick pile carpeting. All-in-all an easy-to-use, very convenient vacuum for quick clean-ups. I purchased the extra battery so I could have a spare on hand--a worthwhile investment. Read more
