Miele has solved a problem that apparently only Dyson was capable of and that is suction power in a cordless vacuum. So here we have German vs British engineering and the difference is striking. Simply put, the Miele is like a Porsche and the Dyson a Jaguar. But for the Triflex HX1, a better comparison might be a Jeep Wrangler. This thing comes apart and reconfigures in so many ways it begins to confound one how to use it. That said, once you get it down changing it around is a piece of cake. Build quality over the top. Of course, it had to have something totally perplexing about it and that is the dust-bin/filter assembly. You had better have your spatial reasoning/mental rotation skills honed (ladies, you are already in trouble here) because it is quite a trick to figure it out. That said, Rubik's Cube notwithstanding, once you get it you are good to go. We put it in the 'room over the garage' (FROG/Bonus/Etc.) since it is a 'mini-apartment' with a full bath and six closets! The dust is just maddening and this vacuum knows what to do with it. Sucks the whole room clean with half the battery to spare. Great attachments, auto-surface beater brush, wall-mount charging and storage. Read more

This is probably the worst vacuum I have ever owned. It does not pick up even medium-sized particles, as they are simply left on the floor after switching it off. And if you don't remember to clean out the filter very regularly, it will rot and cause the vacuum to make a terrible smell. Probably the last thing you'd want is to have a filter like that in an occasional-use vacuum like this seems intended to be. At this high ticket price, there are so many better alternatives. For a year, this has been effective for cleaning the floor around our litter boxes where our cats kick out litter. It's expensive for that limited application. It takes some trial and definitely some error to learn how to empty the bin. All the cat litter dust does not seem to clog the machine. Switching between floor cleaning and hand-held cleaning is cumbersome, so it is rarely a choice for small cleanups away from the primary area. Read more

Besides the complete failure of the power supply, it's a nice vacuum! The power supply failed one week in. You plug in the cord and it does not charge the battery. I have an older HX1 so I could verify that it was the power cable (the old one works). It's not a returnable item so I'm trying to contact Miele for help. This was over $500 and there is no way it should fail like this. So disappointing. Update: I asked for Miele to send a new power cord. They require me to take it to a "certified service center" which would be an hour + trip Yay. Read more

Battery life of the battery is too short, another battery costs $210. I may return the vacuum if the seller is unwilling to work a deal with me on a second battery. Read more

Very disappointed in this product. Wheel on the head kept falling off and I had to take in for repair. They had it for two weeks and it still falls off when I got it back. Also it is not good on carpet, absolutely will not pick up pet fur off carpet. It’s frustrating because it’s a nice convenience when you want a quick cleanup without bringing out the big vacuum. Good for kitchen when the wheel isn’t falling off! Picture shows how wheel is kept in place with cotter pin, but for whatever reason mine keeps falling out and I have to notice before I vacuum it up. I have been on phone with Miele today to try to get the head replaced. After speaking and being placed on hold for 30 minutes they say supervisor needs to call me back to authorize. I have only had this for 8 months. Very frustrated and disappointed in this Miele product Read more
