While it takes a wee bit of clever wiring to get the back-up feature active on the rear camera (you've got to find the + 12 volt wire going to your white back-up reverse gear tail lights and hook up to it) ; this rear view thing will pop up every time you shift to reverse gear! The forward camera can be complicated with all the buttons. I have 3 of these, and we just leave them in the automatic forward recording view mode. With a 32GB microSD card, they simply record in something like 3 minute recording files (I think mp4?) and keep on recording as long as you have the 12 volt cigarette lighter activated (key on, engine running.. or not). They keep hours and hours of sharp video recordings. Comes in very handy if you see an accident or have one yourself! My wife was stopped at a red light and when it turned green, another car sped thru the intersection on his RED light and slammed into another car trying to turn left in front of our camera. This dashcam does exactly what it should for the price. The last one I bought in this price range would always reset the date to January 1st, making it near impossible to find a correct video file. This one has not given me a single problem. I hardwired it to a fuse with a kit and it turns on whenever I turn the car on. The suction cup mount for the front camera is superb. It has a twisting locking mechanism that keeps things in place. With my last camera, I ended up having to glue it in place. This camera is holding strong! I didn't want to wire the backup camera to turn on when in reverse, so I just ran the wire across the top of the car and placed the rear camera inside the car. It still records perfectly. The only possible complaint is the lack of video quality in darkness, but the footage is still useable if you were to ever get in an accident at night. It's also simply a reflection of the price of this particular dashcam. So long as you expect realistic results for a camera under $100, you'll be quite happy. Read more

I really like the picture/video quality of this camera, Dash Cam Front and Rear, Milerong 1080P FHD Dash Camera for Cars, 3" IPS Display Full HD170° Wide Angle Car Camera with Night Vision, G-Sensor, Loop, ASIN: B08BXDR4BF. Unfortunately, the buttons do not work properly. Contacted Milerong regarding inability to access the Menu (M) as the camera won't go to the menu & just beeps whenever I press the button. I tried to reset the camera but it will not reset. I have tried to power off the camera but the camera restarts despite being powered off. I also requested information as to what to order for the extra hardware required to keep camera recording when vehicle is parked as I wanted to try another camera in case this was just a fluke but did not receive an answer. I really wanted to like this camera, like I said, picture/video quality is great, size is perfectly small, and the price was really good, but I am returning this camera. I also ordered the Dual Dash Cam Front and Inside with 64G SD Card,Milerong X25 1080P Dash Camera for Cars with Infrared Night Vision,Loop Recording,G-Sensor,24H Park, ASIN: B0C6Q2565M, and this camera seems to be working great so far and records even while parked. I bought this cam based on all the positive reviews...I installed it and took it out for a test drive. Here are the likes: 1-Came complete with everything you need. 2-It works 3-Compact size, screen display can be turned off and still record. 4-Quick Cust Svc response. 5-sturdy front mounting system. The dislikes: 1- Picture quality and sharpness, in 1080 HD mode I couldn’t read the license plate of a car 6-8 feet in front of me...this is a major fault. 2- At traffic signal, the light colors (red,green,amber) appeared to be all white and indistinguishable, especially when sun was behind light. 3- Rear camera was grainy, also was difficult to read license plate. 4- Difficult to insert and eject microSD card. I was very disappointed about not being able to clearly read license plates....this would help with hit and run situations. You would think most people would buy the cam to do a very basic thing as seeing a license plate 8 ft away as well as your naked eye. This product can’t do this, front or rear. Color distinction and quality was fair at best. Customer Service was quick to respond and courteous, but their suggestions did not improve the cam’s performance much. If you don’t mind picture clarify, then the price is right and it’s a good buy, But if you do mind, I wouldn’t recommend this one. UPDATE: After going into system settings and adjusting the exposure to -2, it did improve the color distinction of traffic lights. Sharpness not much better, license plate reading slightly better but, you still need to be close to car in front. A good purchase if you don’t mind the above. Wide angle view and easy to install. I had difficulty connecting to the reverse light but I’m sure YouTube university will help with that. There are about 7 buttons to toggle between screens which is nice and they are relatively easy to use. I like the Picture in Picture with the rear camera for a 360 view.
