These units are such an incredible upgrade over the older bulky Z-wave devices (from other vendors). I've been replacing the older units as they fail and have not had any issues with these units. These respond reliably to commands and do not block the 2nd wall outlet like old-school Z-wave devices. Ease of install is not a problem and connecting to the controller has gone smoothly. Highly recommended. Read more

Zwave no only doesn't share the very busy 2.4Ghz space, but "modern" devices create a mesh network allowing you to easily connect a whole house without adding repeaters/hubs in multiple places. And this is a great starter zwave device. It does require a master zwave hub - it's easy to add to HomeAssistant or you can go with one of the many commercial solutions that offer hubs. Once that's configured, installing this device is a matter of scanning the v2 QR code, plugging the plug in and "it shows up". It's a very simple switch that you can turn on/off and --- well, that's it. There's an extended model that reports power consumption too - it's a switch, and because it's that simple it's easy to use with automation: "sun goes down, turn on switch". As you keep adding zwave devices it gets easier to add new devices in different areas of your house. If it's your first device, you should consider being within the "visual range" of your hub. Add more and more further away and eventually it's easy/simple to add a device anywhere in your home. Read more

Pair with Home Assistant OK, but don't seem to be able to reach as far as other zwave devices I have. Bit of a struggle to get close enough for S2. Read more

These small plus installed easily to my HomeSeer Z-Wave system. As is not uncommon, I had to go through a "remove" process first with 2 of them because they had been connected to another system - probably for testing before shipping - but the remove and add went smoothly. When plugged directly into a wall socket they do not block the adjacent outlet, but that might not be true if plugged into a power strip or device that has a different orientation of the outlet. Also, there is no "Pass Through" outlet that some larger Z-Wave plug have. Read more

No issues connecting to Smartthings zwave infrastructure. Been working so far to control devices with no delay. These are located somewhat close to the hub for my use so cannot speak to connectivity distance. Read more

I am using this with a Homeseer system, it included on the first try, Homeseer recognized it and I was able to setup automation very easily, maybe 15 minutes for the entire process. It is fairly distant from my controller but still responds quickly. My use for this is to save electricity on an enormous tool battery charger bank in our garage. Every morning it turns on for 2 hours to charge the batteries, also the button on the side can be pushed to turn chargers on for 2 hours at any time. I didn't use the timer built into the device for this though, I just set up an event. ( if it turns on, turn it off in 2 hours, easy) Read more

This Minoston plug can function either as a regular Z-Wave repeater (short range) OR as an 800LR device, but not both simultaneously. In home assistant z-wave JS, the device connects ONLY as z-wave. Not LR. If you are like me, and purchased this to extend your 800LR mesh network to the outdoors for automation involving mailboxes 300+ft away, trash bins etc, go with the Aeotec Range Extender 7. This functions as a 800LR extender, and you'll be able to cover your property with zwave support for all the outdoors stuff you want. Gave it three stars because it functions fine, but shouldn't be called a long range extender when it is incapable of doing so. Read more
