If you’re looking for an outdoor smart plug with just a single outlet and HomeKit compatibility, you don’t have a lot of choices. Thankfully this one fits both requirements and is compact and simple. I have two, and both were somewhat finicky to add to the home — the process would take a long time and didn’t seem to work, but checking with another device I saw the new outlet was indeed added, even though my phone where I scanned the QR code was still “spinning.” So I just cancelled that, and there it was in the “Default” room, where I could rename and move it to the correct room. Had it almost two weeks now and still can’t get it to connect. It’s been outside and I can’t find the box it came in 😞. I’ll just use it for something else and try another brand. The company read my review and reached out to me. They refunded my money and tried to tell me how to troubleshoot my problem. For whatever reason (human/mechanical) I still can’t get to work the way it is supposed to work with my phone but I’ll use as a short extension. I was very impressed with their customer service and would like to tell them thank you. Read more

I installed this to control the accent lights on my deck in my backyard. Previously, it was worked by a remote control that I had to keep track of. And inevitably I could never find the remote when I wanted to turn on the lights. Now a simple voice command to Siri turn on the lights on the deck anytime we want. It’s perfect. Read more

This year I changed one of the outdoor lights to a fixture that has a pair of electrical receptacles. I figured I could plug in string lights, the occasional power tool, and Christmas lights when the time came. I first thought about a simple timer, but then came across this smart plug.I previously ran an extension cord to a smart plug inside the garage, but now I can do away with the extension cord. Adding the schedule was easy since it used an app I was already using for some smart switches. It was easy to setup and connect to the home Wi-Fi network. This survived about a year and a half. During that time, it worked OK, but about once a month, it would lose its connection with Apple Home. Usually it would come back if I went out and manually unplugged it, waited a beat, and then plugged it back in. Then a few months ago, even that procedure stopped working. I finally replaced this product with an indoor smart switch in a weather proof enclosure. Read more
