Mr Coffee Cafe Barista Espresso and Cappuccino Maker White

#UPDATE JAN 2023 After 6 years, my Mr.Coffee espresso machine was still working and now is gone, BUT, not because any issue with the machine. Long story short, Dez 2022 we had that snowstorm in Buffalo, NY and my backyard door was blown by the snow while me and my wife were in a trip. Snow everywhere inside my house, broken pipe, etc and the cold damaged both my Mr Coffee espresso machine and my Nespresso. It seems that the water inside the pump got frozen and damaged the coffee machine. My insurance paid for a new one and I bought again the same espresso machine, but now with a steel front panel instead of the white. #UPDATE Nov 2022 Well, more than 5 years after, my Mr Coffee espresso machine is still working great. Not a single issue so far. Important: I keep using ONLY distilled water. So it keeps the machine clean from mineral elements. I don't need to use any kind of cleaner. #UPDATE: Mar 2020 - Almost 3 years and 3 months (39 months) later, my Mr Coffee BVMC-ECMP1102 works perfectly. No problem so far. Check below the secrets to keep it always new. Update Mar 9th 2018 - After 13 months I'm still in love to our Mr. Coffee Espresso Machine. My wife also loves it. We have been using it every single day, at least 2 times a day, sometimes up to 6 times. TIPS & SECRETS ========================== Here are some SECRETS to keep your machine working, lasting longer and having more fun. 1- Use DISTILLED WATER to make coffee. Spring water is worst than water from your sink tap. More minerals on water, more metal residues on machine parts that will cause damage. Distilled water has no minerals. You can find it in a good grocery store. I buy mines on Wegmans. 2- CLEAN it. Always. Use the clean function after using froth milk, clean the water tank. Small milk of any other residues can damage any espresso machine within time. >>>update: It happened to me that the coffee was not coming out and overflowing the grind coffee support. It was a mess, BUT, after a few times, I found out that it's also about cleaning. If you make a coffee and don't clean and use for a few days, especially in a dry weather/ar conditioning, the coffee inside the coffee filter gets stuck and hard to clean (I mean, inside you can't see. Spray some strong cleaner on it and let it under very hot water for some time. Repeat if necessary. This can happen with any espresso machine. 3- Make MOCHA out of it, it's awesome. A good Chocolate syrup, whipping cream, added to the regular Cappucino. Cocoa power and some cinnamon powder. 4- Godiva's Chocolate liqueur on a cappuccino will add nice taste for hot weather. 5- Use the froth milk to make a fantastic Hot Chocolate, but before warm the cup and drop a square of a good dark chocolate on it. 6- Espresso is supposed to be very hot in temperature. Always warm the cup with boiling water if possible. Update APR 5th - After almost 2 months It works perfectly, I simply love this Espresso Machine. The automatic milk foam feature is fantastic. I've bought cocoa powder, cinnamon powder, Hersheys Dark Chocolate Syrup, Godiva Cocoa Liquor and Whipped Cream to make some awesome special coffees. FEB 9th 2017 - Loved ! I had a few Espresso Machines and decided for this after my older one burned on my fault. I just loved this machine, specially considering its price. Good espresso quality ! The Cappuccino and Latte features are awesome. Just the froth milk is a little bit watered. I make awesome mocha with it too. Really beyond my expectations. Let's nee its durability. Ok, let me first say, my only vice and addiction is good, rich, strong cappuccino and espressos-if I do not get my proper fix in the morning, the rest of my day truly suffers. I tried 4 expensive Italian espresso machines before I found this gem. I was a real coffee snob, thinking an American mr. coffee machine could not compare with these other machines- wow, was I humbled and so wrong! After spending another big chunk of dough on yet another Seaco with yet another pump that died after 90 days, I thought, what do I have to lose? I also refused to settle for a machine that uses wasteful and ridiculously expensive pods or kcups- making my choices very slim... Enter the cafe Barista by Mr. Coffee. This machine makes a perfect espresso, cappuccino, or latte, almost instantly with no waste- best part is I can use as much of my favorite grinds or add flavors as I desire, for perfectly crafted custom beverages (I love using the Italian Torani syrups). I have had the machines for over a month now but make at least two drinks daily, and it never disappoints. The creama is always perfect, the espresso hot, and foam is superb. It has become a required and enjoyable part of my morning ritual. I am leaving this review in hopes that the product sells well so I can continue buying it when this one wears out. BTW: You do NOT need to be an expert barista to use this unit. I highly recommend this machine. This machine makes the process simple enough to make a good cup throughout the day and not have too much maintenance in doing so. You still need to clean out the puck, rinse your filter holder and grounds basket, and wipe the milk wand with each use. Also know that it continues dripping when done; so, I put an empty cup under it until I can finish my espresso and get back to clean it. But it is very simple to use and tastes great if you have freshly roasted beans and a good burr mill bean grinder set to fine for espresso. Drip (store ground) coffee will not work well and is probably stale by the time you buy it from the shelf. My wife loves the double latte and I use the cappuccino setting. Replace the coffee grounds press with a simple 50mm one here for $7 (all metal to support a 30 lbs down force) and you will be happy. Use a folded towel or better yet a silicone mat or cutting board for the press surface so as not to damage the drip holes on your filter holder. Beware that full "foam" setting (at the before 3 o'clock position) will overflow your large 10 oz. coffee cup and run down into the drip tray. Make sure your milk tray is not missing the silicone pickup tube inside (mine was, not available to order; but you can make your own with a 3/8" i.d. tube cut about 4 inches long). The Cafe Barista requires a test-run before use. After two hours of trying to complete a seemingly simple exercise... reading and re-reading the manual, and watching various on-line tutorials, I gave up. I called the Mr. Coffee customer service help-line and spoke to a rep who was completely unfamiliar with the machine and who was not able to help. I gave myself the night off and later spoke to another person who was helpful but ultimately informed me that the model I purchased was defective and should be returned. I returned the machine to Amazon a couple of weeks ago and was surprised to see today that the item is still available through their site. Save yourself the grief. Read more
