My mom always used Mr. Coffee coffee makers, and I've used them for nearly all of my adult life as well, because they have always been reliable and reasonably priced. This is neither a coffee press, nor does it use disposable single serve pods. It is a single serve, electric drip coffee maker for grinds, that does exactly what it is suppose to without issue. If you are someone who believes sometimes less is more, this may be for you.... no extra bells or whistles to go wrong. It comes with a reusable filter, which is great from the perspective of less paper waste, but you may still want to use paper filters, depending upon the grind of your coffee. I liked that it came with an easy to use and replace charcoal water filter that is optional to use. I also liked that it came with a double walled cup with lid and straw for iced coffee that fits perfectly. Buying a decent one separately will usually run you at least $8-$10, so it definitely adds value to this coffee maker. The water reservoir is small and non removable, just perfect for one large cup, and easy to get into to clean properly, another plus. Inside the resevoir is a sort of step measure you can use as well. If you like large reservoirs (which can be difficult to clean if built in, or have alignment issues if removable) this won't be for you. Two buttons, one for hot, one for cold. Hit it once to start, once to turn off, or just wait for it to shut off itself, which it does pretty quickly after it finishes brewing. Not programmable, brews quickly. It has a small profile on the counter top also, making it great for small spaces. Great for single people who just want a freshly brewed cup of cofee when they want it with minimal waste and hassle. The drip pan in the base is easily removable for cleaning and stays in place. There is no base height adjustment, so cup size may help if you have splashing issues, but I had no issue with splashing myself. So far, I'm very happy with it, and given my history with this brand, I fully expect that to remain the case, although I haven't used this model previously. Read more

I have had this one month now. I use biodegradable paper filters instead of the reusable one that comes with the machine and find the coffee tastes good and is very hot. However with the paper filters the water filter has to be set on very carefully or it tilts and falls into the coffee. It would be nice to be able to remove the water reservoir to fill like my last machine but it isn’t a deal breaker. I cannot find any replacement water filters for the machine anywhere. So I will use the one that came with it and then have to go without after that. Why they didn’t use the same size filter as their other machines is beyond me. Overall the machine works, doesn’t take up mch room and is easy to clean. Read more

This Mr Coffee one cup hot and cold is an excellent machine. It is for those who care about making coffee the way they like it. It is not for everyone. It is only for those who like me care deeply about our environment. With all the TALK about GREEN companies and such, most people just don’t give a damn. This machine makes excellent hot and cold coffee without the use of the disastrous and highly anti-environmentally-conscious, earth polluting K-Cups. I would NEVER use those. You buy and measure your favorite ground coffee and simply put it into the reusable mesh filter. The genius of this machine is the measuring spoon made for either hot or cold with the amazing tumbler with lid and straw for the great cold coffee I have been enjoying this summer, hottest summer on record BTW for all the climate crisis deniers! This machine was HALF the price of a Keurig and I DON’T pollute our planet one speck as I compost my used coffee grinds. Let’s think about the planet while we save $$$ - what a concept!!! ***I’m updating my review. Initially as I bought this in the summer, I’d made cold coffee and it was great using the measuring scoop that comes with the machine. However, as it’s now Fall going into Winter, I only make hot coffee. What I’ve found is that the measuring scoop is not right for hot coffee to my taste. For me to enjoy it, I measure coffee using the instructions on the ground coffee brand and it comes out perfectly. By using the scoop I had been making too strong and bitter coffee AND was wasting it. Making hot coffee requires much less by measuring with the amount suggested by the manufacturer of the coffee. I’ve been making all kinds of hot coffee and finally figured out how to make it best = Measuring by tablespoons and not the scoop. Enjoy every cup!!! Read more

A really good easy to use coffee maker, you can only do one cup at a time but I like that, you can either do iced coffee or hot coffee, and it comes with a scoop and a built in place to store scoop when not using scoop. It also comes with a clear plastic tumbler and straw. I love it and my coffee tastes great every use Read more

I purchased this on a recommendation from my bestie cuz I wanted something more on a personal size w/o having to make a whole damn pot. She recommended this & I'm glad I listened. Not only does it do hot coffee but iced coffee as well & I didn't want to have to deal w/pods. It also comes w/a tumbler to use for the iced coffee, but 1 can use a 30oz tumbler providing it fits which is what I use. It's also very simple to use & clean. The only thing I was disappointed with is not being able to find filters small enough for the basket for easier clean up BUT it's not a deal breaker. After all, it does come w/a reusable filter so you simply have to take it out & clean it. It's not a pricey machine & at least I'm familiar w/the Mr. Coffee brand which is another reason as to why I purchased it. Read more
