These plates were $50 a piece at a local festival I attended. I was able to get them at a much more reasonable price on amazon for myself and for gifts. I've used microplanes and graters before for my garlic and onions, and they were always so annoying to use. This tool makes it so easy for me to grate garlic into sauces and even easier for me to mix any oil or sauce into it! It's easy to clean and get out any of the little bits and pieces - just use the spray function of your faucet. I've also had no problem adding it to the dishwasher. Read more

so personally i love this grate plate. It tackles garlic and ginger beautifully and i love being able to include these fresh aromatics in my cooking. its easy to clean, all you really need to do is run it under water and wipe a sponge with some soap over it, its also dishwasher safe if you have sponges that are prone to shredding. The best way to use this plate is small circular motions anywhere on the plate, the whole grating area works beautifully and the small moat around the edge of the plate can hold a lot of grated material. A WARNING THOUGH this is a grate plate meaning it works like a grater, meaning if you run your fingers into it it WILL hurt. So just like a regular cheese grater please be careful when using. As for ease of holding if you've got wet hands then the plate can be pretty easy to mismanage. Adults with weak grasp strength or weaker muscles shouldn't hold the plate and use it at the same time.
