I have heard from several people that Areds are really helping them have an improvement in vision. One of these friends is an airline pilot and he was worried about having to get glasses because of blurriness. He was concerned about how it could affect his job. He said that Opti Areds have been a game changer for him. The Research: research suggests 6-10 mg of lutein daily is beneficial for eye health, with doses up to 20 mg considered safe, often combined with 2mgs zeaxanthin. This product has 10 mgs lutein and 2 mgs Zeaxanthan so it’s the perfect amount of each active ingredient. It does say online that it is best to get Lutein from leafy greens. However, if you’re like me, then you probably won’t do that!😂 The company: These are made in the USA by a company that is headed by Dr. Pit Gills, an experienced and renowned eye surgeon. The Third-Party Testing is REAL: every batch is tested through independent, ISO-accredited laboratories for purity, potency, and safety. I have been on them for 2 weeks now and the blurriness that was often happening daily for my age 60 eyes has stopped! The instructions are to take one in the morning and one in the evening with a meal. They are easy on my stomach. They are large pills but go down easily for me. I am SUPER HAPPY with them. The Opti + AREDS 2 Supplements are wonderful! These capsules come in a plastic container that has a wide mouth for super easy dispensing. So much easier to grab what you need with this bottle! There are 45 softgels (capsules), which is about a month and a half's supply. The capsules are slightly on the larger side, but go down very easily. There is a very, very slight smell to the capsules, but it's not unpleasant. There's really no aftertaste either, which is awesome! These supplements have all of the most recommend ingredients for Optimal Macular Health. After getting through just a fraction of my bottle, my eyes already feel less tired, which has been a constant problem for me. I'm a pretty skeptical person, so I'm pleasantly surprised that I actually felt improvement that quickly. I've noticed that my sight also seems a little bit clearer, so I'm excited to see where it's at by the time I reach the end of this bottle. I struggle with my eyesight, and even with my glasses I can barely see. Everything is always fuzzy, and that's actually lessened just slightly. I'm super pleased with my results so far, so I definitely recommend you give these a try! These supplements are a good value, showing results quickly! I'll come back and update if needed! :) Read more

These supplements arrived sealed, which is great, but there was this odd super long piece of cotton in there, it didn't effect the supplements, just look kind weird. Any who, the primary ingredients in this supplement are impressive. It contains the "gold standard" for eye health: Lutein, Zeaxanthin, Zinc, and Vitamin C. These are exactly what you want to see in a vision support supplement for adults. So very well done!! So here is the thing, I have Acid Reflux, while the main vitamins are great, I unfortunately experienced a flare-up of acid reflux/heartburn after taking these. Everyone’s body reacts differently, but in my case, I suspect it may be triggered by the "other" ingredients used in the softgel, such as Beeswax, Soy Lecithin, MCT oil, or Gelatin. If you have a sensitive stomach or suffer from GERD/reflux, I would suggest being cautious. It’s a reminder that sometimes it’s not the active vitamins, but the filler ingredients that cause a reaction. I’ll be switching back to my previous brand for now, but if you don't have a sensitive stomach, the nutrient profile here is quite strong. Read more

Who this is for: Those who has been diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration (AMD). My mother, 65 years old, was recently diagnosed with AMD. I did not know what to look for so I started looking for lutein-based vitamin, which I knew helps with eye health. I came across this product and learned that this supplement targets those who have been diagnosed with AMD. Content: In addition to 10mg of Lutein, this also includes high dose of Vitamin E, 25mg of Zinc and 2mg of Copper. For those who are simply looking for eye health supplement, this may be unnecessary. Especially if you are thinking of getting this for seniors, those with sensitive stomach may feel discomfort. Taste: My mom is pretty sensitive with taste and has this general dislike on vitamin pill tastes. She didn't like it, but is tolerable. I will take that. Quantity: Instruction suggests to take 2 pills per day. 90/2 = 45 days. I wish they made it a 2-month supply. Price: Currently price level is reasonable, considering the amount and its specialty. I am not sure if this qualifies for FSA. I think it should? I am not sure but given its special target audience, it should be so that other people who were diagnosed could comfortably buy this using their FSA balance. Read more

I’ve been taking lutein and zeaxanthin supplements for a while as my center vision is unfortunately blurry with my age and I am on my computer a lot everyday. This supplement also has the two ingredients which are well known for helping support visual wellness especially AMD. I've been on them for more than two weeks and personally I think they work because my center vision blurriness has improved! The softgels are a bit large so don't take with other pills together at once. It does smell a little but not in a bad way. They fortunately don’t upset my stomach. I also appreciate that it combines other nutrients in one product (zinc, copper and vitamin E) instead of needing several separate supplements but if you have other multi vitamin supplements that you are already on, this could be an overkill.
