Works as advertised! I like the bluer light that it gives off and it is indeed bright enough and probably brighter than the fixture it replaced. Without a ballast it is also easier to install. Read more
I just finished installing the lights and they work very well, and provide great light. With no ballast to worry about, there are only two wires to connect. The black hot wire and the white neutral wire. I replaced an 8 ft fluorescent fixture because the ballast went out. I have two more that I will replace when those ballasts fail. The only bad thing I have to say about this item is that the packaging was inadequate. The unit was slightly bent when I took it out of the box. I was able to straiten it enough to make it work. But I was very disappointed with the damage. And I'm not sure that it wasn't already damaged before they shipped it to me. For that reason I didn't give it 5 stars. I expect better from Amazon. I bought I of these lights, were weak construction, slightly damaged, but repairable. 180 degree beam angle is ok. I asked them if they would reduce the $ 25.00 per light shipping if I ordered 15 units and no response . I went to Warehouse Lighting in Wisconsin , I bought 15 - 8 foot LED ( True ) 10,800 lumen , 108 watt , 5000 K ( beam angle 130 degree ) more direct than 180, and very well built, shipped to me for a grand total of a little more than $ 2,100.00 People answer the phone every time, know what they are talking about, and are very nice. This is great. No more 8 foot bulbs to deal with. Very bright and very easy to install. Will probably buy two more to replace the flourescent tube units as and when they go belly up. Read more
After 90 minutes of sheet metal work repairing the shipping damage to this piece of junk, I plug in the bulbs for a test trial and... NOTHING!!! Now I have to trace the wiring to find the open. If the wiring tests good - it must be the bulbs. Save yourself. Don't do it. I wish I had bought two four-footers at Home Depot and daisy-chained them in series. Read more
Lighting fixture provides plenty of light. Easy to install. The Kelvin color temperature of the bulbs is a little on the blue side (6500K). This may be a customer preference issue for the color/brightness that an individual may want or require to see well. This was installed in my garage with 8' sheet rocked ceilings and walls painted bright white. Different size rooms and interior color of walls and ceilings will provide a different lighting effect. You may want to investigate color temperature needs before purchasing this fixture. I would have liked the bulbs to provide a color temperature of about 5000K. This would have provided lighting closer to normal daylight which seems to be my preference. The fixture sheet metal came slightly damaged but was easily fixed. Read more
