The case is about what I expected from OtterBox. It is solid, heavy construction but soft and porous. Not a hard, slick surface so it's got a nice bit of friction to the grip. The built-in screen protector seems nice and responsive up to the edges and is smudge resistant. I can see the screen perfectly for the most part but I do think the glare is a tad worse on it than it is on the 3rd gen iPhone SE's screen but you learn to adjust viewing angles quickly. The touch/home button cover works surprisingly well. I read a few poor reviews about that part of the case but I can lightly touch it and in less than a second my phone is unlocked. The same goes with app, purchasing and site touch logins. The responsiveness of the phone is pretty impressive in that regard too. I have already dropped it from 4 or 5 feet off the ground (waist to chest height) onto vct, hardwood, linoleum and concrete. In my defense, I only have one good hand and I truly dislike these huge tablets they're passing off as phones these days. I am concerned as to how scratch resistant the screen protector will be and also how well the charging port cover flap holds up but so far so good. After using and abusing this OtterBox DEFENDER SERIES Case & Holster for iPhone SE 2nd gen/iPhone 8/7 - Black for fourteen days I am satisfied with my purchase and I do recommend it to you, reader. [update 08/31/2023] I have to remove the phone from the case from time to time to clean under the Home Key/Fingerprint cover so it will continue to function normally and to clean out the dust particles that apparently enter though the front camera, speaker/mic port. Still liking the case and it continues to save my phone from drops. Read more
