These are the best down pillows I've had. I searched through the extensive Amazon offerings of down/feather pillows and decided on these; some others focused on their special cotton covering, as if you were going to sleep right on that, but I think we all use pillow cases. These pillows (I bought standard size) are just slightly longer than others, and are on the firm side, they have quite a weight of feather/down mix, but also enough give to provide soft comfort, thus it cradles your head and neck without sinking in too far. The packaging is very good, the pillows fluffed up from their compressed shipping form within a couple of hours, there is no odor. I finally get great sleep. The price is good. I have only one minor complaint. As the online illustration of pillow construction shows, and is the case for most of the down pillows, there is a thin layer between the down and the cotton surface of plastic material. Some pillows, like this, have it as a sheet, others have it as a mass of fibers, but it seems to be standard these days (keeps the pillow structure, helps prevent feathers from escaping, etc.); there is a slight crinkly sound from this material when I first lay down. The box and packing materials is lovely. It took me awhile to get them out of the wrap, but I have arthritis. It was worth it! They are the perfect size and covers are thick and so soft. They are airing out on my bedspread and I can already tell they be supportive. I know from experience that these pillows will be nice and cool. If you feel warm just turn the pillow over. I bought these pillows because they are made of natural materials, and I want to support that. They are truly well made and look like they would last forever, but they have a "stiffness" to them that is not conducive to restful sleep. For me. I have to tuck the edge of my pillow under my face - can't stand to have my nose buried - and these are not soft/pliable enough to comfortably do that. These pillows would be great for back sleepers. I bought a pair of king size pillows. After following the instructions and fluffing the pillows, they looked good and fluffy. The minute I layed my head on them, they went flat. The pillows looked good and appeared to be well sewn with good material. I feel like the king size just needs more feathers and down. I looked at a bunch of pillow reviews, but o look at all the 1 star reviews. Most of them say the pillow goes flat. I like feather pillows much more than synthetic fillers. Very happy with this pillow. You can not fluff it, and it will go flat. But if you fluff, then push the feathers towards your head, it gives you a much thicker area under your head, and it stays. I have not had any feathers coming through the cover. Read more
