This Noguchi-style paper lamp looks like the real thing and adds a soft, elegant touch to the room. The size and height are perfect for my needs, fitting beautifully into my space. I was happy that it includes an LED bulb, although I did end up replacing it with my own smart bulb for my purposes. The paper shade is slightly uneven, but with a little twisting and turning, it’s easy to position it so it goes mostly unnoticed. Overall, it’s a lovely lamp with great presence and value. Read more

The lamp works great! The shade fits over the internal wire easy. I would give the paper some time to stretch if you want to be careful, but it went on fine for me. I've had issues with other brands ripping but this one worked great. No dimmer switch like the others and the chord is a bit shorter but worth it for me because the others ripped. Read more

Good reproduction and same size as the classic Noguchi standing akari. (The original sells for over $400.) Pros: looks authentic, packed securely, foot switch works well with bright and light amber light options, easy to put together if one is careful with the delicate shade, stands perfectly with sturdy wide spread legs. Cons: packed with lots of that annoying foam that always seems to have a static charge and sticks to everything, not a perfect reproduction because it does not have same the shade attachment style as the original and lacks the leather wrap on the top handle. I wanted the akari lamp but an original is $600. (For a paper lamp!) this is the cheapest alternative I could find (couldn’t find any used ones). It doesn’t have the leather strap like a real akari, but that’s expected. The faux wood is a bit orange, but overall it’s nice and has a beautiful glow. The light bulb it comes with is insanely garish, very cool toned light, so will need a different bulb. Read more

I purchased the Japanese version of this lamp and was looking forward to it. Unfortunately, the paper lantern shade doesn’t fit on the frame of the lamp. It’s far too short. I stretched it as far as it would go without tearing. I’m including a photo so you can see. I didn’t bother to try to turn it on. Read more
