The media could not be loaded. This portable AC was packaged really well. I got a little confused and ended up tearing the side of the box open, but it turns out you just need to cut the four outer straps and lift the box straight up. Then you cut the two straps holding the accessories inside and you are ready to go. Setup was quick and easy. One important note, it says all over the box and instructions to keep the unit upright for at least six hours, ideally twenty four, before turning it on. So make sure to plan for that. The BTU labeling is a little confusing. The listing says eighty five hundred BTU, but the sticker on the unit shows fifty one hundred. I have seen similar discrepancies with other portable AC units, so maybe it is common or there is something I am not fully understanding about how they are rated. Either way, it cooled my space quickly and effectively, so I am not too concerned. It is currently cooling my twelve by fourteen foot office that gets direct sun and it does the job really well. The size and shape are a big plus. It is basically a tall cube, compact with a square base and vertical form, which makes it easy to fit in spots where a larger unit would not work. I had it temporarily set up on my desk while rearranging the room and may just leave it there. It would also fit under the desk with no problem. The window outlet panel was not quite big enough for my window. At forty seven inches wide, there was still a gap left in my frame. I imagine this would be the case for many standard horizontal sliding windows, especially in older buildings. I was not planning to vent it that way anyway since I routed it through my three D printer ventilation system, but it is something to be aware of. I am sure you can order an extension panel if needed. It has a basic, no frills setup with two fan speeds, a sleep mode, and options for cooling, fan, or dehumidifier. Everything available on the remote is also available on the control panel, which I always appreciate. The noise level is not too bad and is not in a range that I find annoying. Some units have a tone or pitch that really gets to me, but this one does not. It's more like a louder white noise machine... a little lower/richer in tone than a box fan. I also like that the transition between cooling and fan mode is smooth. Other units I have used make a loud, jarring switch that can be disruptive, especially when sleeping. Energy use is listed at seventy one dollars per year, which puts it in the mid range for similar models and seems fair given the performance. There is also a card included to register for an extra warranty. I have found that when companies offer this and you take the time to register, they usually stick by it. Overall, it is a solid, affordable AC that performs well and works exactly how I need it to. Read more

My husband is very negative about these types of Air conditioners, saying they never work as well, but I wanted to give it a try. I have to say it works really well. I have a she-shed that I work out of and so far is has kept me cool. The item arrived quick and well packed. I was able to get an installation question answered quickly via a video. Its easy to install without lifting anything and one person can do it without help. For me the window attachment is a bit too big so it needed to be cut. It sounds just like a window AC (no more or less quiet IMO). If you live in an apartment building and can't install a window unit and don't want to buy the exact AC for the wall sleeve, this would be perfect. My only request would have been a pre-drilled hole in the window attachment to easily install the continuous drain, but not a big deal. For now I have it draining into a receptical which is working fine with no leaks or excess cleanup. The unit is small, light, moves around easily on wheels and the remote is great. Thanks. Read more

This is supposed to be an auto evaporating unit. However, after a couple months of use, the control panel reads “full“. Trying to empty the machine has been impossible because the hose that was provided in the packaging is too small. When unscrew the opening, water goes everywhere. Not only is this false advertising that this is an auto-evaporating unit, but they haven’t provided you with the tools necessary to maintain the machine. Very disappointed. The person from the company has been unresponsive. I’m doing the research to try to figure out what I need to do to remedy the situation, but I have received no help from the manufacturer. Crickets. I don't know if anyone read the critical reviews but I do not agree with them. My AC works fine, blows cold air in my 10sq ft by 12sq ft bedroom. Assembly was pretty straightforward and I'm an older woman, I managed to assemble it within an hour. Everything snaps into place you just need a little patience and dexterity. The water drainage works fine. I have a 5 gallon bucket and it fills up to less than 1/4 of it in the course of a day. You may want to buy some air conditioner foam to seal in any openings when installing the window slider or use window weather sealing tape to seal out the heat. I have had no problems with anything coming undone once it was properly snaped into place. I think it's pretty decent for the price. My only complaint would be that it has shut off by itself a couple of times but that may be due to reaching the level of coolness in the room. I will have to do more research about the problem and try to find a solution, if it is a problem. I will update if I find anymore problems. So far so good. Update: I googled why it shuts off by itself. It said that once the room reaches the desired temperature the compressor will turn off to conserve energy, this is a normal function of the unit it said. It will turn on again though. Also...I noticed it didn't shut off at all when the outside temps were 80 degrees or higher all day. (Glad to know it's not a malfunction of the unit, but just a normal function of the unit.) Yay! :) Read more

Pros: quieter than most other units Does cool down our kids bedroom very well and quickly Was easy to install and put together- do make sure it stays upright for the 6 plus hours when you first get it. Does have wheels so you can move it to another room easily Cons: does sometimes shut off- but reading other reviews it is a normal thing for when it reaches correct temp. It will switch to just fan mode instead of cooling When in dehumidifier mode- the container to hold the water is small, so it shuts down sooner that we would like because it needs to be emptied out.
