My wife and I recently adopted our first dog and within her first week with us, she has a major accident on our beloved IKEA rug. Didn't help that the "accident" was right on a bright part of the rug. We did our best to remove the stain and the stench but it had seeped into the fabric. That's when we decided to finally splurge on a carpet cleaner. We didn't want to spend too much since we had never used one. This option was very reasonably priced and was small, lightweight and portable. The cleaner was very easy to set up. Just one screw for the mount and we were good to go. The unit came with a carpet cleaning solution. It had an oddly specific proportion on the label (113 ml per 3785 ml of hot tap water). I just added a few drops. Turning the unit on was easy, just one button to press. It sounds like a vacuum cleaner. The nozzle has a trigger on the end that starts the spray. At first I couldn't see the spray but it started after a few presses. It also came out lower than I was expecting but easy to adjust. My strategy was spray, wait and brush. You can see the water being sucked right back! I went over the affected area a few times and could immediately see a difference in color. One thing I didn't realize until later is that they recommend vacuuming the rug thoroughly before starting. This made sense since I would keep gathering up my dogs fur as I scrubbed but the fur would not be sucked in and start accumulating on the brush. I do wish it would suck the fur and debris into the waste container, but it's not too hard to vacuum before starting. I’m honestly really impressed with this handheld fabric and carpet cleaner. It’s compact and lightweight, but it has way more power than I expected. I used it on my sofa and a couple of old carpet stains, and it pulled out dirt I didn’t even realize was there. This spot cleaner machine is just terrific!!!! I had a Kenmore spot cleaner and it did not at all work as well as this one. We have two senior dogs (one is 20!) and this machine takes care of any stains on the carpet and even their beds. The spray comes out nicely(not true with the Kenmore) and the suction is strong and constant. Another feature I like is that it is so compact compared to other machines I actually just keep it tucked in the corner of our living room so it is readily accessible to handle any stains. The water tank looks small but it holds more than enough water/solution to adddress what is needed. Set up was easy and I was using it within minutes after taking it out of the box.
