I got this as an upgrade from my prior pour-over coffee drippers, one of them a vintage plastic one and the other a stainless steel Vietnamese coffee dripper. Each of those has multiple parts which I worry about mislaying, whereas this Pour-Over Coffee dripper is one piece only. It also has finer holes than the others, without needing any separate filters. I used to get coffee grounds in my cup with either of my former coffee drippers, whereas this, for the first time, made good coffee with no grounds in it. I don't think it would even matter what fineness the grounds are--the strainer mesh is fine enough that they cannot pass through. The vessel is also larger than either of the others, and especially the Vietnamese one which is small. This one just works better. It's a more effective gadget that produces a better cup of coffee more easily and without getting grounds in it. There are no extra pieces to lose. The materials are good, too--shiny stainless steel with silicone rims. If I ever want to deep clean it, the whole thing could clearly be sterilized by dunking it in a pot of boiling water since both stainless steel and silicone are safe to do that with. To clean this I tapped the grounds out into the garbage and ran water over it from the under side to wash it out, before running water into the top side to largely clean it all up just by rinsing. There are actually two layers of mesh around the top strainer vessel, a very fine one on the inside and a larger mesh outside of that. The finer mesh is really too fine for coffee grounds. The liquid gets through easily but the solids remain. Making coffee with this is a straightforward process. The coffee tastes great and is sufficiently strong. I can easily pour additional hot water over the grounds a second time if I want. I recommend this coffee dripper as a compact and practical way to make one cup at a time. Read more

I am used to commercial-grade kitchen items, so I have a feel for nice things when I use them. This is one of those things. This is a really well made, good quality filter. It's large enough to hold a full cup of coffee, or, if you're making concentrate, enough to filter a few good cups. It's mesh all the way to the top of the cone, which means that as long as any of the mesh is exposed, it will continue to filter. If you are using very fine grounds, you may have to agitate them a bit to clear them away from the mesh but larger grind grounds shouldn't cause this problem. The base is flat to sit atop whatever container you're filtering into with openings all around the bottom of the cone to let the filtered coffee into the container. Nice little integrated tab handle with a silicone pad for ease of grip as well as to not conduct heat if you filter hot. Very fine mesh will catch most any bits, letting only liquid or particles small enough to not affect the taste or texture through. this would work well for not only coffee but tea or any other liquid with the same or similar density of water through. Definitely not for anything thick; the mesh is so fine you'll drive yourself to drink something other than coffee trying to press anything thick through. This is a really nice alternative to disposable filters and removes a bit of paper and plastic from your life. It's a great looking piece, too; definitely not cheap looking and attractive enough to have a place out with the rest of your nice beverage items. I expect this will have a good, long life filtering many cups of your favorite drink. Read more

I really can't think of anything that I don't like about this filter. It's near perfect for the purpose. Much better than a plastic Melitta filter that I had for a long time that required paper filters. Much better than a ceramic filter that had holes that were much to large and was hard to clean. Much better than the glass filters that also required paper filters or screens or had small passages that were hard to clean. This requires no filters, the size and flow rate are good, it's well balanced on a cup, it's not breakable, the material is relatively inert and doesn't leach anything or affect taste, the screen is fine enough not to pass much in the way of solids and sediment, and it's easy to clean. Not sure what more I could ask from it. It does what it does very well at a very reasonable cost is a great value for the money. If I'm nitpicking the little rubber tab that serves as a handle is slightly too long for the length of the metal inside and causes it to feel kind of limp when you pick it up. Would be better if either the metal was longer or the rubber cover shorter. It's a little thing and doesn't affect function. But I touch that tab most every time that I use it so I always notice that it could be better. But again that's looking for something to fault. Pay no attention to my petty complaining. Buy it. One of the best coffee drippers that I have ever owned. The filter is an extreme fine mesh with stainless steel, very durable and high quality. Opening is very wide and sits comfortably on large wide cups or mugs. I will only use this when power is out or when we go camping so my expectations is aligned with once a blue moon usage so Im happy with quality and durability of this dripper. The bottom part is wide enough to properly sit on large coffee mug or jug which is very good but I will mostly use it on wide coffee mugs while camping. The elastic at the bottom was already off and it was a bit of pain to pit it together but using the dripper itself is super easy. The dripper is very lightweight but big enough for making coffee for 4 to 6 people in one run. Coffee drips very smoothly and fine mesh makes the coffee look perfect and aromatic. Great Value at this price for to go coffee dripper. Read more
