I got this to hold my camera up on a mount on my desk and it’s perfect. It holds the weight of my camera and ball head. The stability is fine and doesn’t droop or drop. It’s light weight enough that it doesn’t put too much stress on the arm I have it mounted to. The adjustable height is very convenient for me as it allows me to adjust the camera without needing to move the arm it’s attached to (which is a much more arduous process). Read more

It has been working great until I moved. I had to disassemble and reassemble at my new home. The bottom part of the arm is unstable yet holding the camera. disaster is around the corner. Also, there are 2 pieces of plastic were spewed out of the tube. It has been working for 2 years, great for the price, I wish they had better quality internal assembly pieces. Most of the other reviewers of this product so far seem to be very confused about the fact that tripod legs with no integrated ball head typically come STANDARD with a 3/8"-16 threaded screw that is designed to have a ball head mounted on it. On top of the ball head or quick release plate, there is then a 1/4"-20 threaded screw intended to mount to the STANDARD 1/4"-20 hole found on the bottom of cameras and other photography equipment. Tripod legs with no ball head attached are thus NOT designed to connect directly to a camera. This product is designed to extend the height of a tripod, not to extend the height of a ball head. It is NOT designed to connect directly to a camera. It has a STANDARD 3/8"-16 thread on both ends, and it works perfectly with all normal tripods that have 3/8"-16 screw on top, and all ball heads that will accept 3/8"-16 screw. If you happen to have a ball head that does not have 3/8"-16 thread at the bottom, get a proper ball head, or remove the 1/4" to 3/8" thread adapter bushing that often comes installed. If you happen to have a set of tripod legs that have only a 1/4" screw on top, get a 1/4" to 3/8" bushing to change the thread size. Yes, they make a thread adapter and many ball heads come with this thread adapter by default. Only the very cheapest of mini ball heads do not come with a 3/8"-16 threaded hole. This isn't rocket science. This product itself is designed correctly and works very well. It is being ordered and reviewed by people who don't know what they are doing. Read more
Perfect fit! Unscrew the ballhead from the tripod legs, screw on the extension onto the tripod legs (3/8' threads), screw the ballhead onto the extension (3/8' threads). Couldn't be any easier. Extension finish is very professional looking, perfect match for my tripod. (Blackish) I highly recommend this to add 6-12 inches of adjustable height between the tripod and ballhead. Read more
This extension is going to work just fine. I got it to use between a new Sony ZV-1 and it's BT Hand held Tripod Remote Assembly. The 1/4 inch UNC-20 Male and female threaded hole and stud fit fine and the male side was NOT too long such that bottomed out in the base of the camera before tightening against the rubber shoe. the extension is a little longer and bulkier ( in outline diameter) than I would have liked for this application but I really like the way each of the telescoping sections lock the extension and the rotation angle with a 90 degree (or so) twist cause it will be strong enough to support the weight of this point and shoot camera that's likely twice the weight of any smart Phone or GoPro Action cam out there.. I can't weight to actually test it. Read more
A little cheap on quality (very light weight and plastic ends, but it works. Not sure long term quality, but it does the job. We use it on our home video studio, so I can speak to its durability since ours is stationary mostly Read more
Keeps my sony A7 R up and in perfect position. Highly recommended if you have a heavy camera. Read more
