This is my third time purchasing these water filters for my GE fridge. They work great, easy to insert into fridge. Notice water flow is slower when it is time to change the filter. Included with this 3 pack are the instructions, 3 expiration date labels, and a refrigerator magnet with the manufacturer’s information. I got these replacement filters for my GE refrigerator, mainly because GE’s replacements are so much more expensive than these. I have previously used Pureline filters many years ago on my old Samsung fridge and the filters worked reliably back then and this 3 pack is better priced than a single filter from GE. There are some slight differences in the filters, mainly in the top locking mechanism design but the filter does fit and lock into the filter slot with no issues and no leaks. There is a slight weight difference in the filters, with the GE feeling just slightly heavier, but I think it is mainly from the different top design. I have added some pics to compare the original GE with the new filter. After installation, it takes a few minutes to clear the water line of air and impurities, so you should run several cups of water through it until the flow is smooth and the water is clear and not cloudy. This is pretty normal with most filters. After a few minutes of clearing the line, the flow works as smoothly as before. According to the instructions, these last up to 6 months and come with a 3-month warranty. The performance specifications are pretty comparable to the GE filter and taste-wise I cannot tell the difference from the GE filters. These are really good filters. The water is crystal clear. The taste is excellent. I used them in my GE GSS25QGTGWW refrigerator. They fit perfectly. In my location, the only real issue is high calcium in the water, and these filters are great at reducing the calcium, despite that not being listed on their website. The filtered water tastes slightly different from the taste you get from the GE filters. This is expected, since they are not using identical ratios of filter ingredients. If you want the higher calcium taste of the GE filters, get GE filters. I do prefer the taste of the Pureline filters because I'm not fond of the higher calcium taste the GE filters have. My filters came individually shrink wrapped, and each had a protective seal I had to remove. The package also came with date stickers to apply to the filters. These filters are certified by NSF 42 and 372, WQA, and IAPMO. The official GE filters are certified by NSF 42 & 53. The manufacturer claims these filters remove to following: * Arsenic * Atrazine * Cadmium * Chlorine * Chromium * Copper * Lead * Lindane * Mercury * Odor * THM * Toxephane * Voc It would be good to see the actual test results posted and a comparison with the official GE filters for those concerned about the differences. I have not seen that. But since they are certified by NSF, WQA, and IAPMO, you can be sure they are decent filters. Since my city's water is very high quality to begin with, and tested regularly, I'm not too concerned about these small differences between the brands. I'm more concerned about the taste. I was so thrilled to move into a place with a fancy fridge with the water and ice on the door. Like I had money and was rich! Hah! Then the water started tasting like aquarium water and I learned you have a filter to change. And also theyre $35 each from the maker. AND you cant run it with out a filter. Suddenly I felt like a duped renter. After researching I found these filters which were the best deal, being a 3-pack, which makes me suspicious as always but im very happy with them and they work perfectly. The only problem I had was they didnt seem to fit in spite of them matching the model's number. It warns on the fridge and filter directions NOT to push of force the filter "up" into the opening in fridge but rather just insert, turn and that motion will bring the filter upwards into the chamber and click. I did this multiple times and it'd seem to "place" but no water would come out. I put the old one in- water came out. Tried again, read again and was literally on the comp at amazon, ready to ask for a refund, when I thought heck, i'll give it a bit of a shove with some purpose and see if it clicks and tightens. This did the trick. So, just a tip - if the filter gently threads into your water Thingie, great. If its making contact but not catching or locking, dont hesitate to give it some pressure. .
