Pyle Universal Dual PA DJ Tripod 2 Speaker Stand Kit with Adjustable Height Storage Bag Constructed with Heavy

I had the very tall Ultimate Support stands (around 8' or 9') for the last 20 years and they were good but very tall and I barely used them for their height. I searched for a more compact stand and these Pyle Tripods were a great find at a great price. They are of good sturdy quality, hold my powered speakers with the standard sized pole, lock for safety and are realy easy to set up. They also take a lot less room in my vehicle and come with a nice bag to keep them from getting scratched when traveling. These stands could handle 15" speakers if needed but like most musicians, I have streamlined my act for high quality sound with smaller powered speakers and now these two smaller stands for fast setup and breakdown. One point I will mention is that these are not real tall speaker stands but that is exactly why I chose them. These are 6 foot stands which are 41 inches when closed so I appreciate them for their compactness, portability and ease of setup. You carry them both together in one back side by side. I like that the middle flange, which is the main structural component of the tripod, is made out of STEEL -- rather than plastic (as is the case with some other models). It doesn't take much to break a plastic flange. And then you basically have a piece of junk on your hands. Not so with this model. The bag that comes with it is a nice feature, too. It definitely helps with transportation. And the price was right, too. In fact, I liked them so much that I ended up ordering a second pair for backup. Read more

The units appear quite sturdy and do a great job elevating our speakers for better sound. They are constructed well and create a stable elevated mount - but don't be fooled - any time you put heavy speakers elevated on anybody's tripod there is instability if they are bumped - that is just physics! These units are nice - great especially for the price. The speaker pole is 1.375 diameter - NOT 1" - so don't buy the Mackie 0020725 Stand Mount Adapter SRM150 thinking they will work because they don't. That said, they did arrive slightly damage with the end caps busted and the end of the telescoping pole somewhat deformed, and the carry case had holes in already from apparent rough handling in transit or storage before shipping. The damage won't prevent their use but it is aggravating to buy something new and have it show up looking used. Read more

Very nice, heavier duty than the more expensive set I have!!!! The bag is awesome as well, thinking about trying to get another bag to replace the one that came with my more expensive set of stands. This is a fine-enough pair of PA stands. At it's tallest the vertical post is 5.5 feet (1.7 meters) tall with the tripod base spread out about as wide as it will reach, which is plenty tall enough for most moderate sized rooms. The carrying bag, however, was complete junk right out of the box. Freshly unpacked, the carrying bag material was already ripped (in multiple places) where the strap handles are stitched to vinyl bag. Admittedly this is where these types of bags tend to fall apart, but I expect to at least get _some_ use out of them, not have them already failing. Also, the bag's vinyl had small pinholes and worn scuffs all across it's surface (such that when it's held up to a light, you can see light shining through them). See the photos for what I mean. I'd take a partial refund for this if I could (to purchase a more sturdy bag), but if not, the whole kit is getting returned. Read more

Great stands! Sturdy and easy to set up, change heights, and take down. The carrying bag is an appreciated bonus! As a testament to the quality is the stands, the shipping box was creased and the end flaps were open, and the carrying bag has a coupe of tears - evidence of very poor handling during shipping, but the only damage to the stands were the two cracked tube caps. The stand s themselves were not dented or bent. Read more
