I bought this portable a/c unit to use for cooling my workshop. I ended up needing it for emergency cooling for my house when my a/c went out. I really appreciated having the portable design, rather than a window unit, because it was so simple to move and hook up the exhaust to my window. The window installation kit is very simple to use and can be made to work with most windows. I didn’t even have to remove the screen. It doesn’t require any expertise, unlike windows units that require getting the correct angle and securing the unit so it doesn’t fall. This provided a great amount of cooling for the entire main floor of my house, I was really impressed. I have an open concept floor plan and the square footage of the space I was cooling was about 500sqft. Though rated for a slightly smaller space, I thought it did a good job of keeping up with the cooling load and keeping the space comfortable though I did have it running on maximum. In my workshop, I don’t need to use the full capacity for cooling. There I just set a temperature and it switches on and off as needed. I think it runs pretty quiet, no more loud to me than fan running. It’s a great unit and has an unobtrusive, sleek design that looks nice. Read more

The window mount is badly designed, with a rounded edge instead of a groove where I should be able to close the window on it. However, the rounded edge won't hold the window, of course, so it falls out and slams my window shut. No amount of duct tape would keep it in the window. I contacted Amazon to see if there was a workaround. They referred me to the manufacturer, who never responded. So, my house is still hot and I'm out several hundred dollars, until I can lug it to UPS for a return. My pets are sensitive to heat, so I hope they don't die because of this poor design and poor customer service. Read more

I recently purchased the SereneLife SLPAC406W Portable Air Conditioner for my college dorm, and it has proven to be an excellent choice. The installation process was straightforward, thanks to the easy-to-follow instruction manual and the included window mount kit, which made setting up the AC unit quick and hassle-free. With a 14,000 BTU capacity, this unit cools down a large room with no issues, maintaining a comfortable temperature even during the hottest days, ensuring a pleasant living environment. One of the standout features of this air conditioner is its quiet operation. Unlike other units I've used, this AC doesn’t disrupt my study or sleep, making it a perfect fit for a dorm setting. The control panel is intuitive and easy to navigate, allowing for simple adjustments to the settings. Additionally, the sleek, modern design of the unit complements the contemporary look of my dorm room, adding both functionality and style. However, there is one minor drawback: the wheels. While the portability of this unit is generally a plus, the wheels are a bit weak. Occasionally, the AC starts moving if I accidentally touch it, which can be a bit inconvenient. Despite this minor issue, the SereneLife SLPAC406W Portable Air Conditioner is a fantastic addition to my dorm. It combines ease of installation, efficient cooling, quiet operation, and a stylish design. I highly recommend this unit to anyone seeking a reliable and effective cooling solution for their living space. Read more

Out of the box, this seems like a well-built product. It is easy to maneuver; while hefty not as heavy as I anticipated. I bought this to cool my large living room and adjacent dining room — not disappointed in the capacity of this machine to cool things down in short order. For a 14000 btu unit, very quiet operation even at high fan setting. Some negatives: 1. No instruction manual; 2. Hose connections to the fittings are terrible — hard to put on and keep on. Once properly secured they are ok; but without an installation manual it’s not good; 3. Window kit for the exhaust hose supplied does not anticipate narrow casement openings. My casement windows are only 20” wide; so needed to do some customization (required extra outlay). No insulation for window exhaust kit; no AAA batteries for the control. On balance, the product performance and quality outweighs negatives (at least for me). However, definitely potential problems with the exhaust hose and window installation kit --- i needed to purchase a 1"x1" square wood dowel in order to properly seat the exhaust in the casement window; purchase air conditioner insulation; cut the supplied thermoplastic exhaust fascia down to 20". I got this unit for our RV and I couldn’t be happier with it. Before getting this we were a little miserable on the hot days as our rv air unit doesn’t work. This was the perfect solution. I like this because when we aren’t using it in the rv we can easily move it to a different location. The wheels roll smoothly and easily. There is also a convenient handle for moving. My son uses it in his upstairs bedroom as the upstairs of our home doesn’t cool as well as the bottom floor. It does an amazing job at cooling the entire room and rv. Our rv is nearly 400 square feet and it cools the entire thing in under 30 minutes- it’s very powerful. It will keep the selected temperature steady. The performance is certainly worth mentioning. It also acts as a dehumidifier which has come in handy this summer. I feel this unit was the best choice as it acts as an air conditioner and dehumidifier as well as just a fan on days when the air conditioner isn’t needed. Being one unit it doesn’t take up a lot of room and also saves us money from purchasing the three things separately. Like many wall units you have to get up and down to turn it on, this one is operated easily with a remote, super handy. I’m very pleased., my only regret is not getting this earlier this summer!
