Initial review: we got these units as supplements to our central air in Phoenix. It does a great job in cooling down our sleeping rooms where the central air just isn’t able to cool those areas very well. I made some modification when setting up the window hot air exhaust hose. - you will probably need an additional window kit. Our vertical window was too large and our smaller winders were too small for the kit that came with the units. Too bad because they seemed like good quality items. - to add stability for the exhaust plate block In the window, I cut some cardboard, rolled it up into a round long piece, wrapped it in duct tape and wedged it between the window and the plate. This keeps the exhaust plate my more sturdy in the window. - on my vertical window, to keep it from sliding open at all (unlikely to happen but still) I had some suction cups that screw onto the window and increase the suction grip as you screw. I placed three of these along the window and now they won’t open at all. - to create some more insulation at the exhaust plate, I cut a piece of cardboard to the plate and then bought some foam insulation and glued it to the cardboard. Now just place that in the window behind the exhaust plate to prevent more hot air from coming in. Read more

I love this little AC unit!!! It cools my room down so quickly and works perfectly. I was a bit hesitant about it because of a review talking about a leak but I really needed one this size so I just got a 14x14 drip tray and it fits perfectly on that so I don't have to worry about the potential leaks. I read A LOT of reviews from this unit and other units and what people say are loud or not seem to be very subjective because (as a sound engineer myself) loudness levels depend on several factors such as the room you're putting it in, what you're used to in noise levels, etc. So I'll say this - it's no louder than any other portable ac unit I've ever seen or heard. I wouldn't say it's exceptionally quiet and I wouldn't say it's too loud for a portable ac unit. They all make noise but I truly don't mind this one and I've had MUCH louder units in the past. I also love the mobile app, getting it setup was pretty easy and I have loved using this. I definitely recommend this unit! Read more

Don’t bother if you need something that lasts more than a couple months. I bought 4 of these over the last several months, because I am dumb enough to keep hoping for a working product and they looked good and worked good at first. I will put a separate but detailed review on each of them. This specific unit started making loud noises and shutting down. All of them get hot in the back and the exhaust hose puts off a lot of heat even inside too. Their customer service relied heavy on AI and was difficult to get responses from, but eventually they did refund my purchase price on this specific unit only. Read more

I purchased this air conditioning last year for my apartment's loft bedroom which is at the highest point of the building and has a sloped ceiling and therefore gets very hot and stuffy in the summer. Setting it up was fairly quick and easy and it does a great job at lowering the temperature and removing the humidity in the room in a short time. The only reason I can't give it five stars is because of the window kit - the extensions made the piece way too long for my window. I ended up cutting a piece of styrofoam and sliding that into the end of the main piece and then using duct tape to hold all of it in place. The plastic pieces are not constructed in a way that you can push them down and have them straddle the bottom of the window. Instead you need to balance it on top, close the window, and then tape everything so it holds. At least, this was the best way I found of doing it. I may look into a universal window kit. I didn't think it was any louder than a standard in-the-window/wall A/C unit. I got used to the noise right away (it's really only noisy when the compressor kicks in) and it totally acts as white noise to block out sounds from neighbors. You will need a decent sized bucket for the drain hose especially on humid days/evenings because it pulls a ton of water from the air, even in a smaller room. But the inconvenience of emptying a water bucket every day is totally worth it to have a cool room to sleep in during the summer. And the cat loves it, too! Read more

Really impressed with this unit given the price point. I purchased this after after the lineset on my mini split went bad to keep the main floor of my house comfortable. So far, it's been up to the task. It's not unreasonably loud and very easy to install. The only gripe I have with it is the window seal. It doesn't have the greatest fit and is designed to be held in with screws, so you lose the ability to quickly open and close the window. The biggest surprise is how good the unit is about evaporating the condensate. We had a very hot, muggy day where a smaller 7600BTU unit in a bedroom had to be drained 3 times and at the end of the day when I decided to drain this unit, about 2 ounces of water came out. The drain position isn't very good, but it looks like it won't be something that requires constant attention. All in all, extremely happy with this purchase and will look to replace the old unit in the bedroom with a SereneLife. Read more
